Minnesota: Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in Minneapolis (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners from Minnesota celebrated World Falun Dafa Day at Peavey Plaza at the city center of Minneapolis. The cold weather and the light rain didn't destroy the celebrating atmosphere. Before the activity, Ellen Anderson, State Congressperson, the mayor of Minneapolis, and Mark Dayton, the federal Senator sent greeting letters.

In the greeting letter, Congressperson Ellen Anderson said:

"I am pleased and honored to offer an enthusiastic greeting to those gathering here in Minnesota today to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.

It is my understanding that many Minnesotans are learning and enjoying the benefits of Falun Dafa. Known for its effectiveness in improving health and its profound principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance, this ancient practice has grown to be the most popular form of its kind in Chinese history. We are gathered here today not only to celebrate this excellent form of exercise and meditation but to raise awareness of the grave atrocities being committed against thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

In the past several weeks disturbing news reports of a secret medical facility and underground prison in northeast China have been revealed by two independent sources. There sources started that the facility exclusively holds Falun Gong practitioners, expressly to provide a fresh supply of human organs for use in transplant operations. Families have no idea that their loved ones are held in the camp, or indeed where they are, after they have disappeared.

In the face of such horrific allegations it is vital that our country take a stand and investigate these charges. These persecutions represent not only the worst of human atrocities against Falun Gong, but an affront to the humanity of us all.

Again, I offer you all a sincere welcome as you gather here at Peavey Plaza to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day."

In the greeting letter, Mr. R. T. Rybak, the Mayor of Minneapolis said:

"As Mayor of Minneapolis, I am pleased to extend warm greetings on behalf of our citizens to those gathering today for World Falun Dafa Day.

I know many residents of Minneapolis and the surrounding area are enjoying practicing Falun Dafa, an ancient form of exercise and meditation. I hope that the events you have planned for today are a success and that your goals for celebrating and sharing the principles of Falun Dafa are achieved.

I join many elected leaders across the country in opposing the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. I hope that 2006 World Falun Dafa Day brings heightened awareness to the peaceful appeals of practitioners around the world to end the illegal detainment of practitioners in China.

Congratulations again as you gather to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day at Peavey Plaza in Minneapolis."

In the greeting letter, Senator Mark Dayton said:

"I wish you well, as you celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. I hope that your dedication to this will be fulfilling to you."
