(Clearwisdom.net) On April 20, 2006, Mayor Fred Bates of Cumberland, British Columbia, Canada, proclaimed May 2006 as Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and extended his warm greetings and congratulations to all attendees of the 2006 Canada Experience Sharing Conference to be held in Toronto this May.

PROCLAMATION

Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principle of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance" and incorporate it into their daily lives, striving to become better people in all environments and situations; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa promotes the cultivation of body, mind, and spirit and has inspired millions of people to improve their moral standards since it was brought to the public in 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners worldwide are joyously celebrating the 14^th Anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public during May 2006; and

Whereas: transcending the racial and cultural boundaries, Falun Dafa embraces people of all ages, from all walks of life and religious affiliations; and

Whereas: the commitment of Falun Dafa practitioners to the peaceful resolution of conflicts under the most severe environment and their effort to overcome persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party have shown the world that virtue and rationality can prevail where violence and hatred cannot;

Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners in the communities across Canada will celebrate Falun Dafa Month with parades and free public traditional Chinese dancing and singing performances; and

Whereas: hundreds and thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners will participate in the Canada Experience Sharing Conference to be held in Toronto this May;

Therefore: I, Fred Bates, Mayor of Cumberland do hereby proclaim May 2006 as "Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and extend our warm greetings and congratulations to all attendees of the 2006 Canada Experience Sharing Conference.
