(Clearwisdom.net) On April 24, 2006, Mayor Gary Korpan of the City of Nanaimo, Canada, proclaimed the month of May 2006 as "Falun Dafa Month" honoring Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance in the City of Nanaimo. Office of Mayor City of Nanaimo, British Columbia PROCLAMATION Falun Dafa Month - May 2006 Honoring Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance Whereas: Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation practice of mind, body, and spirit based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance; and Whereas: since its public introduction by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992, Falun Dafa has brought health and peace of mind to over 100 million people on six continents; and Whereas: more men and women of Canada are learning the practice and purifying their hearts, energizing their bodies, and embracing peaceful, virtuously communities; and Whereas: Falun Dafa emphasizes a holistic approach to health that includes the cultivation of ones moral character by following the universe's benevolent characteristic of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, as well as practicing gentle qigong exercises; and Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners in communities across Canada will celebrate Falun Dafa Month with parades and free public traditional Chinese dancing and singing performances; and Whereas: hundreds and thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners will participate in the Canada Experience Sharing Conference to be held in Toronto this May. Now Therefore, I Gary Korpan, Mayor of the City of Nanaimo, do hereby proclaim the month of May, 2006, to be known as: "Falun Dafa Month" Honoring Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance
in the City of Nanaimo.
