Celebrating the 14^th Anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 21, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Vancouver, Canada gathered in front of the Art Gallery downtown to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day with dance and song.

From noon to 3:00 p.m., Falun Gong practitioners performed a series of programs, including waist drums, exercise demonstrations, "Three sentences and a half," Lute solo, dances, singing, choir, and chorus to celebrate the 14^th Anniversary of World Falun Dafa Day, celebrating May as "Falun Dafa Month" and demonstrating the beauty and hope that Falun Dafa brings to the Canadian people.

The performances attracted many people. Some sat on the ground and some older people sat on chairs to watch. Most people simply stood and watched. They often applauded and cheered. Many passersby accepted fliers introducing Falun Gong. Some people began to learn the exercises by following the demonstrations.

The host, Ms. Sofia Bronwen, said that the severe persecution is still going on in China. Some residents of Vancouver have relatives being persecuted in China for practicing Falun Dafa and some residents' relatives are still missing. Still, the beauty that Falun Dafa brings to people's lives brought them here to celebrate this special day with practitioners in 80 countries all over the world. She wanted the audience not to forget the persecution of Falun Gong in China as they experienced the beauty of Falun Gong at this time. She asked them to please extend their hands to help stop the crimes.

Every May is "Falun Dafa Month" in Canada. This year, several cities in the Metro Vancouver area, including Coquitlam and Burnaby, issued proclamations for Falun Dafa.
