(Clearwisdom.net) I would like to share with fellow practitioners the
following passages from Teacher's article, "Comments for Republication," in
Explaining the Content of Falun Dafa:
"... there is a tendency you should be cautious of: don't go looking for new and
unheard of things in Dafa. Some people do, in fact, constantly try to find out
what new things I have said, what new books have come out, what the new
direction is, other sorts of things, and so on. You need to calm your minds and
continue cultivating steadily. The truth is, no matter how many more scriptures
we publish, they are merely supplementary materials to Zhuan Falun. Only Zhuan
Falun can truly guide your cultivation. It contains inner meanings that go from
the level of ordinary people to incomparable heights. As long as you continue to
cultivate, Zhuan Falun will always guide your elevation in cultivation."
"The publication of this book, Explaining the Content, is also for the purpose
of guiding you to learn Zhuan Falun well. I hope that Dafa disciples can take
the Fa as their teacher, deter interference, and cultivate solidly--this is how a
person makes diligent progress."
On March 26, 2006, the "Minghui Weekly" reported that Teacher had attended the
Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference held in Manhattan and had spoken for an
hour. Upon learning the news, I eagerly awaited Teacher's new article to appear
on the website. Every time I logged onto the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, the
very first thing I did was to find out whether Teacher's speech had been
published or not. When I did not see the article, I had the feeling of being
lost. When I thought over this feeling more deeply, I asked myself what is this
feeling of being lost. It is a mindset of human attachments. Although a
cultivator longing for the Fa is understandable, we will not be meeting the
requirement of the Fa if we stick to this attachment, instead of cultivating
ourselves solidly.
When the news of the secret concentration camp became known, I had the strong
desire to hear Teacher's instructions on the issue. Then when I heard the news
of Teacher attending the New York conference, my mind became unstable. I could
not cultivate calmly and walk my own path of cultivation in dealing with the
situation. I had this strong desire to obtain a firm direction from Teacher.
Teacher had said:
"You cannot always rely on me to bring you up to a higher level while you,
yourself do not move. Only after the Fa is explicitly stated do you make a move.
If it is not taught clearly, you do not move, or move backward. I cannot
recognize such behavior as cultivation practice."("Digging Out the Roots,"
Essentials for Further Advancement)
Every time a new circumstance appears, we need to cultivate ourselves solidly in
order to have righteous thoughts in which to face and comprehend the situation,
instead of always depending on Teacher to give us direction. Only when we
solidly study Zhuan Falun, will we understand everything. We need to strictly
take the Fa as Teacher. We need to walk our own path through studying the Fa. We
need to establish our mighty virtue. We cannot hold onto Teacher's hand and not
let go.
What do we do when we take the Fa as Teacher? First, I consider studying the Fa
solidly. For a long time, I have deeply felt the true meaning of "solidness." It
is not easy to achieve solidness. It is inseparable with a cultivator's state
and complements one's own xinxing. At this stage, each one of us needs to have
a rational, solid basis while we study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts,
and clarify the truth. In whatever activity we are doing, we need to have a
strong mindset, without drifting. I enlightened to the meaning of solidly
cultivating, with rationality, reason, and compassion. As Falun Dafa
practitioners, we calmly and solidly cultivate like diamonds, we are steadfast,
and look within. We may then enlighten to the same Fa principle. The attachment
of looking forward to Teacher's new Fa lectures is a display of looking
outwardly and is not a display of solidness. It is a drifting mind and we should
get rid of it.
Furthermore, whatever we encounter on the path of cultivation, we are not to be
led by our attachments. We need to study Zhuan Falun solidly, send forth
righteous thoughts solidly, and cultivate solidly.
