Fellow Practitioners, Please Treat People with Serious Illnesses or Mental Disorders Cautiously

(Clearwisdom.net) A couple of practitioners (A and B) in our area almost gave up Dafa during the evil persecution. They restarted the practice last Chinese New Year and have become quite diligent. Several other ex-practitioners also started practicing again. New practitioners came, too. Practitioners A and B set up a practice site in their house.
A female practitioner C in the same village had a nervous breakdown due to the high pressures of the persecution. Her main consciousness is not clear. She stays at home. C's husband and relatives do not allow her to cultivate. C's condition improved a little, but she is still not completely normal. She came to A and B's practice site several times. At first, A wanted to help former practitioners, and figured that C might be able to catch up, improve her condition, and practice well. A discussed C's situation with other practitioners. One practitioner said, Master had taught in the Fa that two kinds of people could not cultivate: seriously ill patients and people with psychosis. A accepted the fellow practitioner's suggestion of not letting C join the group practice again. C's husband does not let her study the Fa or do the exercises at home. Whenever C tried to meditate, her husband would push her legs down. C got angry and went on a hunger strike. About a week later, C's husband came to seek help from A. A kindly suggested that C to eat and see a doctor if needed. After several days, C became very ill. Her husband took her to the hospital. C died two days after returning from the hospital.
C's death caused a disturbance. C's family became very angry and blamed A and B and the practice site for C's death. Practitioners A and B believe that C's death was the result of the persecution and her husband's interference. C's husband argued with A many times and even attempted to extort 50,000 yuan to settle the case. He threatened to take the case to court. C's relatives frequently harass A and B, so A and B could not find peace at their homes. The turmoil has not ended yet and has very negatively influenced saving sentient beings in the area. Some people spread the rumor that C died from a hunger strike. Moreover, several new practitioners were so disturbed that they could no longer cultivate steadily. A and B are worried and depressed. C's relatives harbor hatred for A, B, and Dafa. This incident also involved other local practitioners. The disturbance and damage were huge.
We should certainly learn a painful lesson from this incident and stop similar things from happening in the future. We should strictly regard the Fa as the teacher, and follow Master's instruction: "Disciple: A student suffered from psychosis a few years ago and had to stay in the hospital, but in the last few years he has not had a problem. Right now he is taking part in Fa-validating work. Should we advise him to appear in public as little as possible, keep a low profile, and do behind-the-scenes type work?
Teacher: That's a good suggestion. If some students can't handle themselves well or suffered from psychosis before learning the Fa, then it's okay for them to cultivate at home. Back when I was imparting the Fa, I always said that those who had psychosis were not allowed in the seminars. When [those] people took up the practice, I would take care of them, and if they studied at home, I would save them just the same. But they were not allowed in the seminars. We needed to protect that cultivation environment of Dafa disciples and prevent interference, and that is why I didn't allow critically ill patients or those who had psychosis to attend the seminars. Students who used to have psychosis can do some things that are in the background, and it's okay if they do less or nothing when it comes to clarifying the truth." (Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York, November 21, 2004) I think that A's wish either to save sentient beings or to practice cultivation wholeheartedly with fellow practitioners was not wrong. The key was that we should keep our minds calm and rational. We should think of the Fa and regard the Fa as the top priority in every situation. At the same time, we should cultivate ourselves well, dissolve ourselves into the Fa at all times, and relinquish human mentalities and attachments. Do not let the evil exploit our loopholes. I remember that there was a similar incident in another area several years ago. Some ill older people learned about the Fa and started doing the exercises, but they were not cultivating wholeheartedly. Their death caused a certain negative influence. Now is the Fa-rectification period. There is still evil persecuting and disturbing us. We should treat this issue more seriously. If people with old age or bad health want to practice, we should handle the situation rationally. We should not let mentally ill people come to practice sites. We can tell them to recite "Falun Dafa is good."
Let us be responsible for the Fa, sentient beings, and ourselves. Let us eliminate disturbances and maintain righteous thoughts. Let us steadily accomplish the three things that Master required. Let us walk straight on our Fa-rectification path!
