Master's Falun Dafa Seminar in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province

(Clearwisdom.net) I have not personally had the good fortune to have attended any of Master's Falun Gong classes. The following is compiled from accounts of fellow practitioners who attended Master's classes in Taiyuan City.

Master's Falun Gong seminar in Taiyuan was the earliest, longest, and the most inexpensive Falun Gong class in the country. It was also the class in which the largest number of people received treatment for their illnesses.

Master started to impart the Fa in 1992. The impact of His first two Falun Gong classes in Beijing was huge due to the miraculous healing effects. At that time Mr. Guo Baolin, the CCP Committee Secretary of the Mining Machinery Factory in Taiyuan City, was seeking medical treatment for his heath problems in Beijing. He had heard about Master and was able to find Master to get his illness healed. He invited Master on the spot to teach Falun Gong in Taiyuan City. Master complied with the request. After Mr. Guo returned to Taiyuan City, he began to arrange for the class and the registration. At that time only 30 to 40 people registered for the class, so Mr. Guo decided to invite his staff members at the factory to come to listen to Master's lectures. Free tickets were offered to every department and section of the factory. The factory paid for the tickets for its staff. Other class attendees were charged 30 yuan for the class. Altogether, about seven to eight hundred people attended Master's seminar.

On October 14, 1992, Master arrived in Taiyuan City with five or six Falun Gong practitioners. They stayed at the factory hotel. That same night Master taught the Fa for about two hours. Then He asked the students to close their eyes, place their hands in the Jieyin position (conjoined), and focus their minds on their illnesses. Master personally cleaned up their illnesses. Right on the spot many attendees showed various levels of healing.

Master stayed in Taiyuan City for over 20 days to allow more people to learn and benefit from the Fa. This was probably the longest Falun Gong class in the country. Every morning between 6:00 and 7:00 Master taught the exercises at the Mining Machinery School's sports ground. Every morning he treated illnesses for 30 people. He taught the exercises in the afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00, and He taught the Fa from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening. He taught the Fa for 10 evenings. During the remaining days he taught the exercises and treated illnesses. It has been said that most of the 30 appointments were booked by provincial or municipal government officials and that regular people were often unable to get an appointment. Although they benefited from Falun Gong, these officials did not speak out about the truth of the persecution. We have never heard them speaking the truth since Falun Gong has been persecuted. Where are their consciences?

An elderly factory worker could not walk due to the rheumatoid arthritis that he had been suffering. His son carried the elderly man on his back and looked for Master. Master distributed his Gong to the practitioners who had come with him, and a practitioner purified the old man's body. The old man was able to walk the next day, and he began to practice Falun Gong from then on. In 1994 he attended Master's class in another city and became the earliest coordinator for Taiyuan City's Falun Gong practice sites.

Master treated illnesses for two sisters. The elder sister had rheumatoid arthritis and the younger one had facial nerve paralysis with half of her face affected. When Master was treating the elder sister he asked, "Are you well now?" She replied loudly, "Yes, I am well!" It turned out that her illness was gone, and she has been healthy ever since. When treating the younger sister, Master asked if she was well, and she answered that maybe she would gradually get well. To date she is still suffering from the same illness. Master said,

"...good or evil comes from a person's spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences." (Lecture Four in Zhuan Falun)

Master has repeatedly taught us this. A spontaneous thought in one moment can bring out different consequences, and a spontaneous thought differentiates a god from a human.

After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, CCP-controlled state television programs severely defamed Dafa and Master. They claimed that Master took 5,000 yuan from the Mining Machinery Factory in Taiyuan City. Let us do a quick calculation to look at this. A class attendee was charged 30 yuan, the lowest among all qigong classes, and 700 to 800 people attended the seminar. Thus the total amount earned would been just over 20,000 yuan. Master was given only 5,000 yuan, and room and board was deducted from the total amount earned. Yet, the CCP blatantly lied that Master had accumulated massive wealth.

Master personally wrote the Letter of Appointment for the Taiyuan City Coordinator, which was rare nationwide. This person had been responsible for arranging everything for the Falun Gong class held in Taiyuan City, and this person should know Fa principles the best. He was sentenced to five years in prison during the persecution and gave up practicing due to high pressure and deceitful brainwashing. He was released before his prison term was completed. His wife had surgery for breast cancer in 1991 and stepped into Falun Gong the same time he did. She could not take the huge pressure during his imprisonment. She got high blood pressure, became paralyzed, and even lost her ability to talk. Upon seeing former fellow practitioners, she held their hands and cried out loud.

In Zhuan Falun a story was told about an elderly lady from Taiyuan City who was hit by a car. After July 20, 1999, Deng Jinghua from Beijing, who had enlightened along an evil path, came to the Taiyuan City Labor Camp a few times to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners. This person blatantly denied the existence of the car accident. Actually, such accidents have happened to many local practitioners. I personally heard about three such experiences. For one example, an older female practitioner was hit by a car. Her family members and the car driver sent her to a hospital against her will. It turned out that she had no injuries at all, but the car was badly dented.

We deeply feel the close predestined relationship between Master and sentient beings in Shanxi Province, his immense compassion towards Shanxi practitioners and his intentions. We know the hardship that Master experienced in the first few years of teaching the Fa. Many here benefited and witnessed Dafa's miraculous power in the 20 plus days. However, how well have we done during the time when Dafa has been persecuted?

I remember that a fellow practitioner's daughter, a flight attendant, once ran into Master on an airplane. Master told her that Shanxi practitioners hadn't done too well. This practitioner always had tears streaming down her face when she talked about this. We Shanxi practitioners truly haven't done well, and we haven't lived up to Master's compassionate salvation. However, we shouldn't be lost in self-condemnation. Only by following Master's teachings and doing the three things well can we live up to Master's expectations for us. Fellow practitioners in Shanxi Province, let us be more diligent!
