My Understanding of Purifying Our Minds before Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing cultivation in Falun Dafa in 1995. With years of Teacher's merciful salvation, I have gradually changed from an everyday person to a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple. Especially with the constant proceeding of the Fa-rectification, I have indeed felt the essence of my life transforming into a higher being. Below is a little bit of my understanding about sending forth righteous thoughts that I'd like to share with my fellow practitioners.

After the persecution began, in view of the destructive test upon Dafa disciples done by the old forces, Teacher has given Dafa disciples the Fa-implement known as sending forth righteous thoughts. At the beginning, I didn't give it high priority, because I had too many human thoughts that had kept me from believing anything until seeing it. With ever-deepening Fa-study and the progress of the Fa-rectification, I realized that whether or not I can see the effect, as long as it is what Dafa needs and what Teacher tells us to do, I should do it well. Based on this principle of believing in Teacher and the Fa, I started to persist in sending forth righteous thoughts four times a day at 6 a.m., 12 p.m., 6 p.m. And 12 a.m. Recently I suddenly realized that, the effect of righteous thoughts is remarkable.

First, in regard to the five minutes of purifying our own dimensional field prior to sending forth righteous thoughts, I came to understand that a human being is an environment. A specific environment will develop particular kinds of substances. A garbage can or a manure pit is bound to grow flies and maggots. Therefore, a Dafa disciple's thoughts and dimensional field must be filled with pure and righteous elements so that evil and bad things cannot stay or invade. The five minutes of cleansing our own dimensional fields is done by eliminating the bad thoughts in our mind, thought karma, and bad notions or external interference, so that the evil and bad things will find no environment for invasion.

Secondly, I came to understand that the reason for the evil to dare to conduct destructive tests of Dafa disciples is because we, as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, have not fundamentally changed our conventional thinking. Sometimes, our human thoughts are still playing a big part, and we are deceived by the illusions of the human world detected by our human eyes. In "The Issue of Celestial Eye" in Lecture Two of Zhuan Falun, Teacher told us,

"...every phenomenon in human society is illusory and unreal." ... "A physical object's form of existence appears like this, but the way it actually manifests is not. Our eyes, nonetheless, have the capability to stabilize physical objects in our physical dimension to the state that we can see now." (Zhuan Falun, March 2000 translation version)

Dafa disciples are different from everyday people in that Dafa disciples can see the nature of a matter. If we can't see it, then whether a Dafa disciple believes in Teacher and the Fa would be a fundamental issue. If Dafa disciples do not believe in Teacher, then the evil and the old forces will discharge the most destructive test upon Dafa disciples. Therefore in my understanding, indeed everything is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts.

Fa-rectification is still in progress. I hope all Dafa disciples have the righteous thoughts of divine beings and do well the three things right now, and destroy all evil. Let's do well everything that Dafa disciples are supposed to do, live up to Teacher's merciful salvation and the sentient beings' expectations.
