(Clearwisdom.net) Ever since the news of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners detained in concentration camps and labor camps broke, kind-hearted people and many organizations have in succession condemned such animalistic crimes. On June 23, cosponsored by 16 county council members, the Yunlin County Council unanimously passed a resolution to condemn the CCP for persecuting Falun Gong and harvesting organs from practitioners for profit.

Councilman Mr. Lau sponsored the resolution. He said that he had sensed the urgency of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners' human rights and local human rights issues in medical circle. Therefore, to support Falun Gong practitioners' basic rights and safeguard medical ethical values, he sponsored this resolution and called on his colleagues to support it. He said that his resolution was cosponsored by 18 colleagues and was eventually passed unanimously.

Going to China for Organ transplant advertisement was also seen in Yunlin county

Not long ago, an advertisement promoting going to China for organ transplant was also found in the County. Mr. Liu then reported to county bureau of health. During an investigation, the advertiser confessed and said that he ran similar advertisement all over Taiwan. He was fined 90,000 Taiwan dollars (~$3000).

An official of the Yunlin County Bureau of Health said that the bureau has now implemented enforcement to investigate if any medical organization has been involved in running organ transplant ads or helping Mainland sell organs to Taiwan civilians. The bureau also mailed out paper notices to medical entities within the county about this issue, warning them not to violate the laws. According related laws, anyone promoting organ trafficking through advertisement, publication, radio, TV, electronic message, internet and other media will be fined 90,000 to 450,000 Taiwan dollars (~$3000 to 15,000)

The resolution has the following contents:

Call for the United Nations, Red Cross and International Health Organizations to fully investigate whether or not Chinese concentration camps, labor camps and related medical facilities are involved in harvesting organs from living civilians;

Call for international human rights organizations to fully investigate the persecution of Falun Gong and request the Chinese Communist Party to stop the persecution of the practice;

Urge County government to inform civilians that going to China for organ transplant has safety concerns and is complicated by the CCP's illegal organ harvesting. Urge hospitals to elaborate on the source of organs before operation to safeguard quality of medical service and protect patient's lives;

Urge County Bureaus of News, Health and Culture to help "Taiwan Association to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners" to raise awareness of the illegal organ harvesting practice in China through activities such as photo and document displays in order to protest civilians' lives and properties. Recommend the Bureau of Education to encourage students to visit such displays to learn about the truth and the importance of ruling by law.
