(Clearwisdom.net) From June 18 to 20, 2006, various media outlets in Thailand, including Thairath, Daily News and the Chinese newspapers Asian Daily, China Daily, New China and Jinghua Chinese Daily, falsely attributed to Falun Gong the incident of a female teacher from China injuring a parent with a knife. The story said that the police thought that the teacher was a Falun Gong practitioner. The reports badly damaged the reputation of Falun Gong.

Practitioners realized that this was not a coincidence. Behind these reports, the Chinese Embassy was manipulating the newspapers. The practitioners realized that they should find out the truth and save Falun Gong's reputation and sentient beings. They went to the police station in charge of the case, and learned that no policeman had said the teacher was a Falun Gong practitioner and no policeman had said that her behavior was related to any belief. Later, practitioners went to the school where the teacher taught. The principal of the school said that the teacher was sent to this school by a program run by the Department of Education in Thailand and China. After the incident, people did a complete physical and mental examination of this teacher, and found that she had a hereditary mental disease and she had gone insane on another occasion two years ago. Nobody at the school had ever heard that she practiced Falun Gong.

The practitioners also called the newspapers to clarify the truth to them. On June 19, Thairath and Daily News, the first to report this news, made corrections to their reports.

On June 23, two groups of Falun Gong practitioners went to four Chinese newspapers to clarify the truth. They told the newspapers that Falun Gong practitioners follow the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and try to be good people in society, so they would never injure another person. Practitioners also told them that many Falun Gong practitioners in China are jailed, fired from their work places and expelled from schools because they practice Falun Gong. The Chinese government refuses to issue passports to practitioners. So, this teacher could not be a Falun Gong practitioner, because she was a teacher from an official teacher exchange program run jointly by the Thai and Chinese governments. The practitioners told the newspapers that there is no evident for the newspapers to attribute this incident to Falun Gong, and such false reports damage the reputation of Falun Gong. As public media, the newspapers should be objective and just, to report the truth. The practitioners said that the newspapers should correct the reports and make up the damage they caused. They then gave the employees of the newspapers truth-clarification materials and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

The practitioners' actions achieved good results. Four Chinese newspapers made corrections to their reports. Chinese newspapers in Thailand have been controlled by the CCP for a long time. Practitioners clarified the truth to them through this incident. This has helped them to have a better understanding of Falun Gong and the CCP, and gives them a chance to choose a wonderful future.

Through this incident, practitioners in Thailand had an opportunity to clarify the truth, do the three things well and improve as a whole body.
