Taiwan: Yunlin County Supervisor Supports CIPFG (Photo)
By Li Fang-ju
(Clearwisdom.net) Professor Chen Yan-ling mentioned the Chinese
Communist Party's (CCP) organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners
for profit when attending a Yunlin County press conference. After learning this,
County Supervisor Su Chih-fen signed a document to support the Coalition to
Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG) and hoped that everyone would
support activities protesting the persecution. Yunlin County Supervisor Su Chih-fen signed to support the
CIPFG Chen Yan-ling said, "The purpose of the Coalition to Investigate the
Persecution of Falun Gong is to unite all righteous forces globally, to conduct
independent investigations in China and overseas into the CCP's harvesting of
body organs from living Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned in concentration
camps, prisons, labor camps, detention centers, brainwashing centers, mental
hospitals and hospitals, to end the brutal persecution." Chen Yan-ling proposed an investigation into the situation that there are
many patients in Yunlin going to mainland China for liver and kidney
transplants. One patient died on the operating table in July 2005 when he went
to China for a liver transplant. Supervisor Su was shocked and asked the
secretary to call the director of the Department of Public Health to investigate
the case. Director Lin Guo-yi of the Luoyang Culture and Teaching Foundation said that
his nephew went twice to China for kidney transplants. Both times failed. A
local resident with a surname of Li said his friend went to China for a kidney
transplant. His friend was clear-minded after being injected with anesthesia and
felt uneasy later in his heart since he saw that a bloody kidney was taken out
from a donor lying near him. The whole operation lasted 3 minutes. In China, the number of organ transplants has increased tremendously since
1999. For example, only 78 liver transplants were conducted from 1991 to 1998.
The number of liver transplants in 2005 was 20 times more than the total of the
eight years. It is well known that the CCP initiated the persecution of Falun
Gong in 1999. The increase in organ transplants is consistent with the
escalation of the persecution. Doctors and nurses in many hospitals in China
have also confessed that organs are from Falun Gong practitioners, young and
healthy living donors. |
