"A Painter Awakens" and Two More Short Stories
(Clearwisdom.net) When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) first launched its persecution against
Falun Gong in China, a painter beguiled by the CCP's lies was coerced into
creating comic strips slandering Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners in his
area have repeatedly approached him and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to
him. They even gave him a copy of "The Nine Commentaries on the Communist
Party" and information pertaining to the dark truth about the CCP. Once he
realized the truth about Falun Gong, he regretted what he had done. He
repeatedly wanted to make up for his past wrongdoing. In 2005, the local "610" Office approached him and told him to
create pictures that slander and defame Falun Gong, but this time he adamantly
refused to comply. He told Falun Gong practitioners, "Now I understand
everything. It was divine beings that blessed me with a talent for painting, so
I must use my talents and skills to praise the good and condemn the wicked. I
must never use my talent to assist the evil with its wicked deeds." So far, the artist has already been inspired to draw a few painting that
portray the 610 Office persecution, as well as practitioners' resilience to
violence and their uncompromising faith in Falun Gong. He has decided to publish
these paintings when the time is right. In May 2006, the son-in-law of a Falun Gong practitioner in Zhaoyuan City,
Shandong Province received a call from the police. The policeman asked him over
the phone, "Are you a resident of ABC village? Are there any Falun Gong
practitioners in your village?" He replied, "Yes, there are Falun Gong
practitioners in my village. In fact, my own father-in-law is one." The
policeman told him, "Tell him that things will get bad for a few days. Tell
him to find a place to hide for a few days. If truth be told, I am most
reluctant to get involved in this, but I have no choice." On June 13, 2006, the People's Court in Xiangyang Precinct, Hegang City,
Heilongjiang Province held an illegal trial of Falun Gong practitioners. The
police took top security measurements to prevent anyone from entering the
courtroom. Only a few of its people were sitting in the courtroom. Local Falun
Gong practitioners heard about the illegal trial and started to send forth
righteous thoughts together. Shortly after the trial started, a bailiff passed out and fell to the floor.
He was immediately carried out of the courtroom. Then most of the court
employees in the courtroom started to feel fatigue and chest pain. The bailiffs
had to rotate every five minutes to get fresh air. A man in the courtroom
commented, "I have attended many trials, but I have never experienced
anything so strange. Falun Gong is truly miraculous. I must seriously start to
read Zhuan Falun." The trial, which was held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., concluded without
reaching a verdict.
