By a Falun Gong practitioner in Hong Kong

(Clearwisdom.net) Regarding the nine Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore who were charged in court with "illegal assembly" for the dissemination of Falun Gong "truth-clarification| materials by the Singapore government on July 14, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong came to the Consulate-General of Singapore on July 20, 2006 to protest, calling on the Singapore government not to be accomplice to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the persecution of Falun Gong. They urged the Singapore government to immediately withdraw the charge.

More than 30 Falun Gong practitioners set off from Charter Garden and marched to the Consulate General of Singapore in Hong Kong. A representative for the practitioners read an open letter in front of the consulate, pointing out that since May 28, 2006, when the Singapore media released the news that former head of the 610 Office Li Lanqing would visit Singapore on the invitation of Lee Kuan Yee, there have occurred a series of incidents in Singapore, from attempting to repatriate Falun Gong practitioners to banning Falun Gong practitioners' truth-clarification activities.

The open letter points out that this is the 3^rd time that the Singapore authorities brought charge against Falun Gong practitioners. Moreover, after the nine practitioners appeared in court on July 14, the mainstream media in Singapore published a series of slanderous articles, obviously directed by higher level authorities. These articles were then republished and embellished upon by the CCP media, creating a very bad influence. Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners called on the Singapore authorities to see clearly that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is doomed to fail and urged them not to be an accomplice of the CCP, to take seriously morality, justice and conscience and withdraw the charge against the Falun Gong practitioners.
