Taiwan: Candlelight Vigil in Kaohsiung Condemns the CCP's Atrocities of Organ Removal from Living People (Photos)
By a practitioner in Taiwan
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Kaohsiung held an activity
in front of National Sun Yat-sen University at 4:00 p.m. on July 20, 2006. They
commemorated those practitioners tortured to death in China, condemned the
Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of organ removal from living Falun
Gong practitioners and called on the international community to stop the CCP's
seven-year-long persecution. Kaohsiung City Council member Huang Tien-tsai
participated in the event and will propose a resolution condemning the
persecution in an upcoming city council meeting. The CCP's brutal persecution of Falun Gong has lasted seven years. In March,
the CCP's atrocities of organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners was
disclosed. The Falun Dafa Association and the Minghui/Clearwisdom website
initiated the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong on April 4,
2006. The coalition intends to conduct an independent and direct investigation
and collect evidence of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned
in prisons, concentration camps, and labor camps, in order to stop the brutal
persecution. David Matas, international human rights lawyer, and David Kilgour, former
Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, formed an independent
investigation team and released their report to the media on July 6, 2006. Mr.
Matas said that the organ harvesting practice was a new form of evil never heard
of before on this planet. Kaohsiung City Council member Huang Tien-tsai said that the CCP's inhuman
atrocities of live organ removal were shocking. He pledged to propose a stern
resolution to condemn the CCP's atrocities and will request international human
rights organizations to work together to stop the persecution. |
