Zhao Xifa, from Laixi City, Shandong Province, Was Illegally Sentenced to Seven Years and Is at Death’s Door

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of March 19, 2006, Zhao Xifa, around 60 years old, from Qiujiazhuang Village, Wubei Town, Laixi City, Shandong Province, came home and was illegally arrested by police officers from the Wubei Police Station hiding nearby.

That night after 1 a.m., the police went to his home and ransacked it. His wife had already gone to bed. She was so shocked by the police breaking into their home that she fainted. The police did not care about her life-threatening situation and continued to carry out their search. They took away some Dafa books and materials and left his wife passed out. At around 3 a.m., they dragged Zhao Xifa and a doctor to Zhao Xifa’s home saying that they wanted to have the doctor take a look at his wife. Zhao Xifa’s wife refused. The police demanded payment of 80 yuan for "transportation expenses." Zhao and his wife refused to pay, but the police insisted.

Later on, the police took Zhao Xifa to the Laixi Jail and persecuted him both mentally and physically for over four months. On May 13, the court illegally sentenced him to seven years. Under the long-term persecution, Zhao Xifa became very sick and his whole body became swollen. The police from Laixi City forced Zhao Xifa’s family members to pay money so they could send some police to monitor Zhao Xifa while he went to the hospital. Zhao Xifa’s daughter worried about her father and had to pay over one thousand yuan for her father to see the doctor. Zhao Xifa’s wife saw the doctor slightly pat Zhao Xifa’s back and he couldn’t even bear the pain. He endured the pain for a long time and could only keep his tears to himself. Later on, the result from the examination was that he had leukemia, a kidney tumor, enteritis, and other illnesses. The police still would not release him. On June 28, they sent Zhao Xifa, then in serious condition, to Jinan Jail for further persecution.

Later on Zhao Xifa’s wife went to the police station to ask them to release him. She asked the superintendent of the police station why they still would not release him since Zhao Xifa was very sick, and instead they sent him to another prison for further persecution. The superintendent said ruthlessly, "Other people who were in even worse condition were also sent to the other prison."
