During the past nine years, I have walked on my cultivation path under Teacher's protection and compassion.

In 1996, my father recovered from all the illnesses he had in his life just several months after he began practicing Falun Dafa. Following my father's advice, I entered Dafa practice in 1997. I read Lecture in Sydney first and then Zhuan Falun. After that, I always read Dafa books. Before practicing Dafa, I studied many kinds of qigong, but only Dafa made a strong impression me--it was just what I wanted.

Soon after I started practicing in 1997, I bought 100 eggs for my mother. I carried the eggs in two bags. As I crossed a street, I was knocked to the ground by a young man who ran a red light on a bicycle. My legs swung up and hit my face and then I fell on the ground with my arms and legs stretched out in all directions. But I was still holding the bags. The young man kept apologizing to me and asked me if I was hurt after he helped me up. I was not angry at all. My only thought was to avoid blocking traffic. I told him quickly, "I am fine. You can leave." I thought it did not matter how many eggs were left and everything was as it should be. When I got home, my mother and sister saw me covered with dust. I told them I was hit by a bicycle. They took the bags and opened them. It was quite a surprise to find that not one egg was broken. But there was a big black bruise on my leg and the skin on my knee and elbow was scratched. After seeing this, they were amazed. My sister said, "You would definitely have fought with him before you practiced." My wife was also amazed by what she saw and was speechless. Later, my wife told our relatives: "If I had not seen it personally, I would not believe it at all."

In the latter half of November 2000, I went to Tiananmen Square and shouted: "Falun Dafa is good! Restore my Teacher's reputation!" I was arrested and detained at the Tiananmen Police Station. After it was dark, the police sent me to an unknown place. When the police found they had no way to get my address from me, they forced me to take off my warm coat and shoes. I had on only a light sweater and pants. They dragged me to the playground outside and handcuffed me behind my back to a basketball pole. I shivered constantly in the cold wind. The police leered at me and said, "This is just a light punishment because we think you are old. If you still do not tell us your address, we have many ways to deal with Falun Gong." I kept clarifying the truth to them and urged then not to treat a good person like that. They did not listen and said they had to follow orders from their superiors or else they would lose their jobs. I saw they did not listen to me. I started to recite the Dafa books. I recited Lunyu and Hong Yin. I found I did not shiver after I recited for while. With Teacher's help, I did not have any fear at all.

When the police saw I was no longer shivering, they dragged me back to a room and blew hot air on me. Then they pushed me outside and froze me again. They blew hot air on me twice and put me in the cold for the whole night. Surprisingly, I found I did not feel cold. Not only that but the path under my feet seemed to be covered with a thick, soft carpet. At that time, my feelings were beyond words to describe, and I was moved to tears. I just did the things a Dafa practitioner should do. However, Teacher bore so much for me. Before day broke, the police were afraid that pedestrians would see me. They dragged me into an empty room and opened the handcuffs. My hands had swelled like dark purple buns. There was no heat in the room. There was water on the ground, and all the windows were open. I faced a window and stood for a day. However, I did not feel cold or hungry. I did not need to go to the restroom and did not have a runny nose. My swollen hands recovered without my noticing.

During the past nine years of cultivation, I experienced eliminating sickness karma and the heinous persecution many times. But I have endured all these tests under Teacher's protection. I have experienced that

"When disciples have ample righteous thoughts,
Master has the power to turn back the tide."
