(Clearwisdom.net) On July 2, 2006, the Montgomery Village Foundation Summer Lawn Theater in Maryland invited Falun Gong practitioners to introduce Falun Gong and traditional Chinese culture to the residents of the local community. During the one hour activity, practitioners performed the dragon dance, waist drum, traditional dancing and singing, children's dancing, demonstration of costumes in Tang and Song dynasty, and Falun Gong exercises. Practitioners brought the beauty of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to the community.

At the beginning of the show, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yao, who is a biologist, told the audience, "We will perform many traditional Chinese programs for you tonight, and all the performers are Falun Gong practitioners."

Young practitioners from the Minghui School in Washington D.C. performed dancing "Lotus." The youngest practitioner is only four and the oldest is eleven. Most of them were born in the USA and have grown up here, but their dancing has the Eastern style.

Falun Gong practitioners in golden costumes played waist drums with the music "Falun Dafa is Good." Many American people had never before seen waist drums.

Practitioner Ms. Wang's sweet voice and pure singing attracted many people. The audience also applauded the dragon dancing and celestial maidens' dance.

After the performances, practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises of Falun Gong. Some audience members followed practitioners and learned the exercises.

Young practitioners from Minghui School in traditional Chinese costumes gave the audience the bookmarks they made, which have an introduction to Falun Gong on them.

Ms. Blanca, who is from Central-America, has been living in Montgomery Village for sixteen years. She has seen Falun Gong practitioners' performances in parades in Washington D. C. many times. She said that she likes the song "Falun Dafa is Good." Although she doesn't understand the words, the beautiful melody makes her feel comfortable.

A senior center brought fourteen older people by bus to see the performance. They were all amazed by the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

A local resident said that Falun Gong practitioners gave them a chance to appreciate the essence of traditional Chinese culture. She liked the performances, especially the costumed demonstrations by cute children.

A musician from Pennsylvania was visiting his friend. He said that he liked the show very much, especially the singing by practitioner Nancy Wang.

The exercise demonstration made a deep impression on the audience. With the peaceful movements and the beautiful music, the audience learned the beauty of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" while enjoying the traditional culture.

Ms. Yao said that when organizers heard about the seven year-long persecution of Falun Gong in China, they were all willing to help practitioners to spread the truth.

The person in charge of the Summer Lawn Theater said that it was the first time for them to invite Chinese people to demonstrate Chinese culture, which was quite different than other performances they had seen. They had a very happy night.

She told practitioners that they hoped to see practitioners' performances next summer again.
