Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group Calls on United Nations to Pay Attention to the Situations of Mr. Hu Zhiming and Ms. Wang Xia

(Clearwisdom.net) The Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group submitted an urgent letter of appeal to the United Nations last week, introducing the latest situation of American Falun Gong practitioner Hu Zhihua's younger brother, Hu Zhiming, and calling for the United Nations to negotiate with the Chinese government to release Hu Zhiming, who has been on hunger strike for nearly four months, and guarantee his basic human rights.

Hu Zhiming was illegally arrested for practicing Falun Gong in September 2000 in Shanghai. His parents were not notified until October 2001 that he was first detained in the Shanghai Detention Center, and later sentenced to four years in prison. He had been detained in Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai. For nearly a year, his family could not get any messages from him. When he was released in 2004, he had been tortured to the point of extreme weakness, and had difficulty walking. He had become a totally different person from before. After his release, on September 23 to 25, 2005, the Beijing police and agents from National Security Bureau arrested him again and he has been missing. His family has not obtained any news about him since.

Recently, his older brother got a message that he was being detained in Beijing's No. 2 Detention Center. The Chinese Communist regime has seriously violated his human rights by arbitrarily arresting and detaining him. Hu Zhiming has been put on the records in the United Nations, but the CCP is still trying to cover up the facts, and persecute Hu Zhiming.

Another letter of appeal submitted at the same time to the United Nations was about Wang Xia, who had been tortured by the CCP regime to become only skin and bones. She has been arrested multiple times, and currently still remains missing. The Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group requested the United Nations to help look for Wang Xia. Many UN human rights officials have showed concern over Wang Xia's case and her case has been put on the record. The photos depicting her persecution situation have been published and they shocked whoever has seen them. Many people are paying attention to the CCP's inhuman genocidal persecution of Falun Gong.
