Six More Practitioners Die as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Wang Dagai, 58, was from Shigan Village, Anping County, Hebei Province. After she began the practice of Falun Gong, her ailing body was healed. In 2001 she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong but was intercepted on her way there. She was sent back and held in a local detention center for 15 days. She was also fined 3,000 yuan before her release. Later she had 4,000 more yuan extorted from her. Due to the frequent harassment, her husband became very afraid and began to keep a close eye on her. He did not allow her to practice the exercises and no longer gave her any spending money. Moreover, for two nights, he did not allow her inside to sleep. Because of the tremendous pressure, Ms. Wang suffered a stroke in 2004. But after studying the Fa and doing the exercises, she quickly recovered. However, her husband, afraid of being implicated, locked her in a room and often abused her. As a result, Ms. Wang's illness relapsed. She suddenly passed away on June 28, 2006.

Mr. Liu Changkai was a Falun Gong practitioner from Dingwang Village, Jiepai Town, Mengyin County, Shandong Province. After the persecution began in 1999, his son and daughter-in-law were detained and forced to go through brainwashing. The authorities also forced Mr. Liu to pay fines for his son and go to the county detention center to "accompany" his son. At the end of 2000, his son was sentenced to three years of forced labor. This devastated Mr. Liu. In 2003 he developed a heart problem. In April 2004, his daughter-in-law was arrested again and sentenced to three years of forced labor. This heavy blow only made Mr. Liu's health worse. In October 2004, the authorities ransacked his home. The constant harassment eventually caused Mr. Liu to die on February 14, 2005, at the age of 63.

Ms. Xing Shuyuan was from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. After the persecution began, her two daughters were both arrested and detained, one sent to Dalian Forced Labor Camp and the other to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. During her daughters' detention, the local police and residential committee staff also went to her home to harass her, demanding that she write statements guaranteeing to stop the practice of Falun Gong. Ms. Xing was devastated by such pressure. She passed away on August 15, 2003, at the age of 70.

Ms. Guo Zhishuang, in her 60s, was from Shen Village, Matun Town, Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province. She was once diagnosed with late stage lung cancer. Her hair all fell out during chemotherapy. Shortly after she began to practice Falun Gong, she fully recovered and grew a full head of black hair. After the persecution began in 1999, her Dafa books were confiscated. Under pressure she gave up cultivation, causing her illness to relapse. She died in the spring of 2003.

Ms. Wu Xiu, in her 60s, was a practitioner from Ruzhou, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. She was an excellent teacher. After she began to practice Falun Gong in 1996, her diabetes and high blood pressure disappeared. After the persecution began in 1999, she was constantly persecuted and harassed, causing her great mental and physical damage. She was even paralyzed for a while. After she recovered, she became blind. She passed away in June 2006.

Ms. Qu Yuxin was from Anda City, Heilongjiang Province. Her health improved greatly after she began to practice Falun Gong. After the persecution began, she took the initiative to clarify the truth. She fell ill after being constantly hounded by the police. She was only 59.
