(Clearwisdom.net) On August 15, 2006, two Falun Gong practitioners from Malaysia were turned away by Singapore Customs when they were entering the country, with no explanation given. This indicates that the Singapore government may be extending their persecution and harassment of Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Huang and Ms. Yang, two Falun Gong practitioners from Malaysia, took a night train to Singapore on August 14. They arrived in Singapore on the morning of August 15. At the Customs Bureau, when an officer scanned their passport, a warning signal appeared on the computer screen. The officer informed his co-workers immediately.

Custom officers took their passports and asked the practitioners to wait. Twenty minutes later, a female Chinese officer came to them and asked them some questions:

Q: What is the purpose of your coming to Singapore?

A: We are here as tourists.

Q: Where did you stay during the last visit?

A: A friend’s house.

Q: Where are you going to stay this time?

A: Hotel and friends’ houses

Q: Did customs officers ask you any questions when you entered Singapore last time?

A: No.

The officer left after questioning.

The two practitioners asked to use the bathroom. The officers didn’t allow them at first, and asked them to wait. But later, they let the practitioners go with two guards.

One hour later, Customs decided to bar these two practitioners from entering Singapore.

The practitioners asked for the reason. The officers said that it was the order from the Immigrations Bureau, and they didn’t know the reason either. The practitioners requested to meet with their supervisor, but the officers refused and said that their supervisor would give them the same answer. They suggested that the practitioners write to the Immigrations Bureau and ask for the reason.

The two practitioners asked for the specific item of the law on which Customs based their refusal. The officers could not answer them. The practitioners said that they have entered Singapore many times without problems, and they hadn't broken any laws in Singapore. They asked why they were rejected this time. Again, the custom officers could not answer.

Finally, security guards took the practitioners to the bus station and told them to take the bus back to Malaysia.

The practitioners said that they could not understand this. Ms. Huang visited Singapore twice in July, and Ms. Yang came to Singapore three times. They didn’t have any problems then. Why were they rejected just a few weeks later?

Ms. Huang and Ms. Yang had come to Singapore to protest during Li Lanqing’s visit, who is the head of 610 Office. Ms. Huang and Ms. Yang believe that the Singapore government collected their information then.

Several days ago, a Falun Gong practitioner who has an American passport, also had trouble when entering Singapore. Ms. Yang said that her husband, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was questioned when entering Singapore to attend their son’s graduation in July.

Under the Chinese Communist Party’s pressure, the Singapore government has harassed and limited Falun Gong practitioners’ activities since the CCP launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. Recently, many serious incidences of arrests and prosecutions against practitioners have taken place in Singapore. The rejection of practitioners’ entry into the country shows that the Singapore government may have extended the repression of Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Huang said that according to recent evidence, the Singapore government might be collecting the names of overseas Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners would remind the Singapore government not to follow the CCP in persecuting Falun Gong. They hope that the Singapore government will wake up soon and stop the interference.
