(Clearwisdom.net) Since the editorial article "Notice of Adjustment to the Times of Global Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts" and Teacher’s new article "Opening the Gate of the World" were published on the Minghui/Clearwisdom website, my impression is that there is not much time left for Fa-rectification. At the same time, I am even more worried about those practitioners who have yet to step forward to validate the Fa. I fear that they might lose this predestined opportunity of endless lifetimes. Here I would like to share my understanding with them:
1. Some people may rationalize, "Isn’t studying Zhuan Falun supposed to be enough?" So, they are reluctant to do things to validate the Fa. My understanding is that actually, all these things [to validate the Fa] are what Dafa practitioners must do. Teacher said,
"I can tell you, all those things that you do are actually done for yourselves--not a single thing is done for me." "The real purpose of all those things you do is for you to succeed." ("Fa-Lecture During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")
Besides, what is the objective of our reading Zhuan Falun? Isn’t it to do and cultivate according to the Fa? Although the situation changed after July 20, 1999, all these things are still under Teacher’s control. We are also utilizing this environment to rid ourselves of the attachment to fear and our selfishness. I have also come to realize that everything we do during the Fa-rectification period is only what Teacher has in mind to let us break through to higher and higher levels.
2. Additionally, let me say something about how I went about it, just to give those practitioners who have yet to step out some idea. Actually, at the beginning, I really had to brace myself. At the time, I had the idea that one absolutely could not reach consummation without validating the Fa, and what would happen to me after everyone left? So, I did things mainly to validate myself at the beginning, and with the attachment of fear as well. However, the more I stepped out, the better my understanding, and my attachment to fear lessened. As I got used to doing it, my understanding improved, and many previous unsolved questions were easily solved. So I urge those practitioners to take the plunge, and then, little by little, get rid of the attachment to fear. Since time is very limited now and of our own accord we became Dafa practitioners, Teacher’s disciples, we should live up to the title. Whether we do well or poorly, we should try our best to extend our hands to save the people in the world. Don’t you agree?
3. When distributing the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, we can start with people we know, which is easier. Then, graduate to those we don’t know but have met once before. Regardless if we know them or not, most people will accept the book with care. Some of them will be quite interested, since not all of them are lost in the maze. Still, some may not understand it, thinking that we are involved in politics. There will also be some who are worried about us and refuse to accept the book or return it to us. That can make things awkward, and we need to have the right attitude. Many people have been infused with the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) culture since they were born, and it takes time for them to understand us. Therefore, we should not have too high an expectation of them. We can regard distributing the Nine Commentaries and truth clarification as the roaming about in the secular world that Teacher has arranged for us as part of cultivation. Teacher said,
"Wandering about is pretty hard—he goes from place to place, begging for food and running into all kinds of people who laugh at him, and insult him, or take advantage of him. He runs into all kinds of things. He goes about everything as a practitioner, he keeps his interactions with people in the proper perspective, he guards his character well, constantly improves his character, and he doesn’t get affected by all the different kinds of ordinary people’s material temptations." (Zhuan Falun)
4. In our daily life or work, we should constantly have in mind doing the three things. On the other hand, in truth clarification or distributing the Nine Commentaries, we should not be too insistent or blunt. If our unduly enthusiastic behavior leaves people with a negative impression, the results will have an opposite effect, and may tarnish the image of Dafa. When we take our shoes for repair or go to the barbershop, these are good opportunities to distribute materials. I found that people who live in the lower strata of society tend to accept the truth more readily. After chatting with them for a little while, I then give them some materials. They are very happy to accept them. We also need to target our distribution more effectively. Since the Nine Commentaries is a book, we cannot distribute it on a large scale like we distribute fliers. We don’t have that large a quantity. Also, some people who are too deceived pay no attention to it, which results in waste. Therefore, I normally distribute the Nine Commentaries one by one, face to face.
Once when I was riding on a bus, there was an older gentleman sitting beside me. I knew it was a good opportunity, so I took out the Nine Commentaries and let him see the cover. As I expected, he took a look at the cover. I smiled at him, "Do you want to read the book?" He replied, "My eyesight is poor." I said, "You can take it with you and read." He accepted it. I think, no matter what, once he read the Nine Commentaries, it would be good for him.
5. Regarding the Nine Commentaries, the version I distribute also contains the announcement from The Epoch Times, along with ways to quit the CCP and its related organizations. In this way, the people will also come to know about quitting the CCP. We may not meet some of these people ever again, so as they read the book they can slowly come to know and understand about the importance of quitting the CCP as they look at the current situation. When the situation develops to the point where they need to make a decision, I believe they will make the right choice.
Above are just some of my understandings and ways of doing things. After reading relevant articles from other practitioners on the Internet, I felt that I did rather poorly compared to them and that I was quite far from the requirements of the Fa. A practitioner from another area told me that in their region, the police lowered their heads when they saw practitioners. Compared to other practitioners, we have to be more and more diligent.
