San Francisco: Falun Gong Takes Action to Rescue Bu Dongwei

(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communist regime arrested Bu Dongwei, a staff member of the Beijing office of the U.S. Asia Foundation headquartered in San Francisco of the United States, for practicing Falun Gong. There has been no news of him since his arrest. Spokesperson for Falun Gong in San Francisco expressed that they are taking actions to rescue Bu Dongwei.

According to a Radio Free Asia August 2^nd report: the Asia Foundation has released a brief statement days ago, stating that Bu Dongwei has not gone to work since May 22, 2006. They notified his family and confirmed that he was arrested by the Chinese Communist authorities. The foundation has not received any further information about him.

Spokesperson for Falun Gong in San Francisco Sherry Zhang pointed out when speaking to the reporter that Bu Dongwei was arrested for practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhang said, Bu Dongwei may have been arrested two months ago. They suspected him of concealing a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, but after searching his house, they did not found the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, but found a copy of Zhuan Falun.

Ms. Zhang pointed out that the CCP regime's arrest of Bu Dongwei is an act of completely violating the Chinese Constitution.

Ms. Zhang said the reason for arresting him is that he concealed a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The Chinese Constitution guarantees freedom of speech.

Ms. Zhang said the CCP regime has become even more rampant in the persecution of Falun Gong. She analyzed the reasons and said that more and more people have learned about the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong. An obvious example is lawyer Gao Zhisheng, and some other very righteous people, who publicly support Falun Gong practitioners. These changes in people's hearts make the CCP even more panicked. They know that as soon as the persecution of Falun Gong ends, they will be put on trial, so they want to continue the persecution of Falun Gong.

The U.S. Asia Foundation is a non-governmental organization focusing on education, women and legal issues in China.

Ms. Zhang said that it is quite ironic that Bu Dongwei helped many Chinese citizens learn about their legal rights, but he himself was arrested and not granted any legal rights. Two months after his arrest, nobody knows where he is, and his family has not been notified.

Ms. Zhang expressed that several days later, Bu Dongwei's wife will come to San Francisco to discuss with the U.S. Asia Foundation about rescuing Bu Dongwei. Falun Gong practitioners have started an effort to secure his release.

Ms. Zhang said, "We also have a group for rescuing Falun Gong practitioners. We delivered information about the arrest of Bo Dongwei to government officials of different levels and called upon the international community to rescue Bu Dongwei. At the same time, we will also hold a series of rescue activities."
