Investigation Lead: An Organ Transplant Center Newly Established at Jilin University's No. 1 Hospital, Changchun City
(Clearwisdom.net) Preface: The existence of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong
practitioners and the immediate cremation of their bodies to destroy the
evidence was exposed in April 2006. Soon after, the Falun Dafa Association and
the Minghui/Clearwisdom website founded the "Coalition to Investigate the
Persecution of Falun Gong in China" (CIPFG; also called "Coalition to
Investigate the Persecution"). The CIPFG collects information from those
willing to come forward. CIPFG asks people who know the truth to further expose
the crimes concerning illegal organ harvesting in China. We call on all people
of conscience to lend your help in exposing the facts of this vicious
persecution of Falun Gong practitioners inside the secret concentration camps,
forced labor camps, prisons and hospitals in Mainland China. The sooner this
atrocity is fully exposed, the sooner this brutal persecution will end. Below is
information that came to light recently. Investigation Lead: the organ transplant center at the Jilin University No.1
Hospital is located underground and the organ sources are dubious The medical staff at the Organ Transplant Center of No.1 Hospital affiliated
with Jilin University is primarily from the former Organ Transplant Group of the
Urology Surgical Department at the Jilin University Sino-Japanese Friendship
Hospital (the No. 3 Hospital). The staff were transferred from the No. 3
Hospital at the end of April 2006. The director of the former organ transplant
section Fu Yaowen, the original head nurse and some other doctors introduced
advanced technology and formed the Organ Transplant Center at No.1 Hospital of
Jilin University (No. 2 Urology Surgical Section). The transplant surgeries have
since commenced. According to the staff there, many patients have recently arrived. Sometimes
the small hallway is filled with people. Its in-patient ward is located
underground. Patients come from all over the country; The more than 20 hospital
beds are now occupied. The organ sources are unknown. Whether the organ sources
are from Falun Gong practitioners is being investigated. The Organ Transplant Center of the No.1 Hospital is located underground, just
under the first floor of the in-patient building. The rooms are gloomy and quite
hidden. For security, there are an inspection office and an armed police office.
Our investigation has discovered that the Political Consultation Committee
manages the center, which indicates this is a suspicious state-level crime.
Following is the author's observation during a visit to the center for a
consultation: I went down through several curved staircases from the first floor in the
in-patient building of this hospital. I came to the main basement hall. The area
was dimly lit. At the right side of the hall was the hospital staff cafeteria.
Turning left, I immediately faced the door entering the organ transplant center.
An announcement board hung on the wall. Around ten people gathering in front of
the door. Many wore large face masks and looked very weak. I went inside for the consultation. The staff members looked very busy. A big
desk stood in the middle of the room. A person was busy answering phone calls. I
heard him saying, "The money we got does not belong to hospital but to
someone in upper authority ¡V the political consultant committee. The political
consultant committee is in charge of this issue." A doctor named Song from the No.1 Hospital said that he had only worked there
for three months. I heard two people close by mentioned there would be a class
on Saturday given by a professor from the urology surgical section. (It might be
a short-term training for staff) There is a small room on the right side of this entrance room, with six or
seven bunk beds tightly placed inside. The consultation was conducted at such a
hidden place and was done one on one. Here was what I learned: A kidney
transplant will cost more than 100,000 Yuan total. The hospital check-up prior
to the surgery is 4,000 Yuan. The cost for hospital stay and surgery is 50,000
Yuan. The kidney source costs 15,000 Yuan. The surgery will last around two
hours. After the transplant surgery, the patient should also frequently visit
the hospital for medications and medical check-ups. A middle-aged man said he had undergone a kidney transplant in 2004 at Jilin
University's No.3 Hospital. He had waited for two months for a kidney. At that
time there were many patients who had organ transplants. The primary doctors
were Fu Yaowen, Xing Guangjun and Zhou Honglan. A female patient who had just undergone an organ transplant surgery five
months ago said she had the surgery in March 2006. There were four patients then
who had surgeries at the same time. Sometimes there were ten surgeries in one
afternoon. Each surgery would take two hours, headed by one primary doctor, one
associate doctor and five or six assistants. Sometimes, due to lack of staff,
some staff would continue working on another surgery after finishing the
previous one. The patients didn't know the source of the kidneys. Some doctors
might tell patients the age and gender of the organ donors. Most organs came
from men in their 30s or some in in their 20s. This organ transplant center performed 176 organ transplants in 2005. The
patients' waiting time for organs is from a few weeks to several months. There are currently 16 doctors, 4 research staff, 18 nurses, 2 technicians
and 4 assistant nurses at this organ transplant center. Following is the list of the main staff who have high or median titles: Following are the doctors for organ transplant surgeons: Organ transplant office: Organ transplant research office: Blood purification room: Doctors in charge of transplant surgeries: Contact info: Wang Gang, Director, person in charge, 86-13654398452 (Cell), 86-431-5612906,
