(Clearwisdom.net) On August 1, the inauguration ceremony for new City Council members and village mayors was held in Pingtong. Taking this precious opportunity, local practitioners told the new officials, as well as other prominent guests, about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Outside the ceremony venue, another group of practitioners displayed a giant banner which read, "Strongly Condemn the CCP's Atrocities of Harvesting Organs." Some officials signed the practitioners' petition condemning the CCP at the event site, while several others promised to meet with practitioners at another time to learn more details about the persecution in China. Many citizens who attended the inauguration ceremony also condemned the atrocities.

Council Member Mr. Wang said that he knew that many Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted in China and that a large number of Taiwanese citizens have been to the Mainland for organ transplant surgery. However, he didn't know that the Chinese communist regime was harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Li is serving his second term as mayor. He said that he is very concerned about the fact that the Communist Party is the sole criminal in the persecution of Falun Gong, and many overseas governments and individuals have been unknowingly or directly forced to help in the persecution. He indicated that he would like to discuss this important topic with practitioners in the future.

A senior citizen said, "I grew up in Shandong Province and I came to Taiwan when I was only 15. All my family members in my hometown were tortured spiritually and physically. The Communist Party has committed so many crimes against the Chinese people." He also told us of a cruel torture method that the communist regime used: paper handcuffs. He said that paper handcuffs are made of thin paper and can be easily damaged. However, if one damages a pair, the person would face much harsher punishment. In fact, many people were tortured to death for this reason during Mao's era. In the end, he gave us his prediction: The "prosperous China" is just a pair of paper handcuffs and would soon collapse. He warned fellow citizens to clearly see this fact.

A Mainland TV reporter told practitioners that the lead anchor of his station had mentioned the CCP's organ harvesting practice to him before. The reporter said that he respects Mainland practitioners, as they practice the principle of "Not Fighting Back When Punched or Insulted" so well under such an unprecedented persecution. He also expressed his respect to local practitioners who came to the ceremony to clarify the truth.

When all the mayors posed for a group photo, most reporters gathered around them to take photos. However, a reporter from the China Daily took photos of the practitioners' banner first. He said that he wanted to tell his co-workers that the CCP is doing very terrible things.
