Their Consciences Awakened, Police Release A Falun Gong Practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) One night in July, an elderly Falun Dafa practitioner had the grand wish in his heart to offer salvation to sentient beings. He brought along a lot of Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials and distributed them. His heart was filled with peace, because he had cultivated Falun Gong for a few years and deeply felt its wonders. He wanted to share his feelings and the awe of Falun Gong with everyone in his hometown.

Around midnight, when he was placing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials on walls, the patrolling police discovered him. A few policemen rushed toward him with their dogs. The situation was really dangerous. This Falun Dafa practitioner did not have fear, and neither did he try to run. He just sat down quietly at the spot where he had originally stood. The fierce dogs, which had pounced toward him, also miraculously and inexplicably sat down obediently. The few policemen who arrived surrounded the practitioner.

With their scolding and shouting, the practitioner remained unmoved. He merely peacefully explained the facts about Falun Gong to them. Beginning to explain, from the peaceful appeal on April 25, 1999 to the CCP-staged self-immolation incident to the 10 million plus people who had renounced their CCP membership, the practitioner convinced the police. They were speechless! The police brought the practitioner to the patrol team headquarters. They handcuffed him behind his back and started to interrogate him. The practitioner maintained his calm and composure and continued telling them how he benefited from cultivating Falun Dafa, the marvels of Falun Dafa and how Falun Dafa has spread to all parts of the world.

A few policemen took copies of the book "Choosing One's Future" from the pile of truth-clarifying materials that the practitioner was distributing earlier and started to read. As time went on, the practitioner realized, "I should not be here. There are many people out there waiting for me to offer them salvation." Thus he had the wish, "I hope they will release me after they understand the truth about Falun Gong."

At around 4:00 a.m., the patrol team leader came over and asked the detention center police official to remove the practitioner's handcuffs. He also politely told the practitioner that he could leave and thus opened the door. There was a fence outside. The police asked if the practitioner would be able to climb over the fence. He then asked the guard to open the fence gate, and gestured with both hands for the practitioner to go and told him to leave quickly.

From the scolding and shouting, to putting on handcuffs, to taking the initiative to eventually let the practitioner go, all that happened within a few hours. What kind of choices did the policemen make and what went though their heads and hearts during the process? What exactly made them have such a startling change in their behavior?

It was due to the truth they have heard and due to the kindness and compassion of Falun Gong practitioners that made them have an awakening of conscience.

The policemen chose a bright future for themselves and their related sentient beings. It happened exactly like Master wrote in His poem:

For the Good of the World

Make clear the truth,
and drive off foul spirits.
Spread widely the Nine Commentaries,
and the wicked Party shall fade.
With righteous thoughts,
save the world's people.
I just don't believe their consciences
are irretrievably lost.
