On July 23, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Chiayi held a parade--"Falun Dafa in Chiayi." Practitioners said, "The persecution of Falun Gong has lasted for seven years. But there are still some people who don’t know the truth about the persecution. We want to bring the beauty and the peacefulness of Falun Dafa to people through the parade so that more people will practice. Also, we want people to learn about the brutality of the persecution." Practitioners from Yunlin and Xinying also attended the parade.
Practitioners assembled in Hsingchia Park in Chiayi at 4:00 p.m. The golden banner reading "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" led the parade. Following the banner, there were three Falun symbol flags, a waist drum team which consisted of sixty practitioners, a big model of Zhuan Falun, a celestial maiden team, a re-enactment of organ harvesting and torture, exercise demonstration, photos of fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death, and other truth-clarifying display boards and photos. The parade was about 100 meters long. Many spectators applauded.
The audience was impressed by the waist drum team. The sunset reflected on the model of Zhuan Falun, which made it more fabulous. Celestial maidens danced on the busiest street in Chiayi—Chungshan Street. Many citizens watched the dance and applauded.
When the re-enactment of organ harvesting and torture passed by a restaurant, a boy was scared by the brutality of the CCP. He hid in his mother’s arms. Practitioners gave the truth-clarifying materials to his mother and talked to her. She said, "I didn’t know about the brutality of the CCP until today." A group of female practitioners in white holding photos of fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death followed the celestial maiden team.
When the parade passed by "Central Circle" and entered Wenhua Street, several girls were shocked by the re-enactment of organ harvesting. A restaurant owner told those girls, "Many people went to Mainland China to have liver transplants." Practitioners gave the girls materials and told them about the CCP harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and the result of the investigation conducted by the Canadian Independent Investigation Group.
When the parade passed by Chuiyang Road, a citizen accepted a paper lotus flower from a practitioner. He said, "It is so beautiful. I will remember this day forever."
