By a Falun Dafa practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner who started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. In the past twenty years since I got married, I constantly suffered from big and small diseases. In addition, I bore many responsibilities inside and outside of the home. I felt like I was suffering great hardship and developed a very bad temper. I would shout and even physically lash out at others. It is our infinitely compassionate Teacher who has saved me, who gave me the bliss of obtaining the Fa. I obtained a new life and began living a life anew as a moral person.

After I began to cultivate, I studied the Fa and practiced the exercises with great enthusiasm. Since I am illiterate, I met many difficulties in studying the Fa. However, I firmly believed in Teacher and persevered in cultivating Dafa. In less than six months, I could read almost all of Zhuan Falun, as well as other Dafa books. I based everything in my life according to the principles of the Fa and followed Teacher's directions to live my life. My body was purified and my xinxing improved tremendously. Everyone around me said that I had changed into a new person. They also saw the goodness in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance", as well as the righteousness of Dafa. Naturally, the effect of validating Dafa has been very good.

Since the persecution of Dafa began on July 20, 1999, I have never wavered in my faith in Dafa. When the Chinese Communist Party forced us to sign guarantee statements to give up Falun Gong, I resolutely refused. As a result, they began seeing me as a focal point for persecution. I ignored all of it and persevered in what I am supposed to do--validating the Fa, clarifying the truth, and saving sentient beings. Initially, I had very shallow understandings of the high level teachings of Dafa (I did not know about sending righteous thoughts back then). I tried to protect Dafa with human emotions and sentiments, and did not manage to develop true compassion. In my process of clarifying the truth to sentient beings, I was reported to the authorities and was arrested on two occasions. On the first occasion, I was released after being imprisoned for a month and fined 2,000 yuan; On the second occasion, I was imprisoned in the county detention center for seven months, where I suffered many inhumane tortures. I went on a hunger strike for forty-two days and was able to walk out with righteous thoughts. When I got out, I weighed no more than 70 pounds. During that time, policemen pulled three teeth from my mouth and tore apart my left ear. A month after I returned home however, I recovered fully and was able to devote myself to validating the Fa and clarifying the truth thereafter.

Since then, I began to study the Fa for at least three hours every day. I would wake up at 3:20 a.m. in the morning and start doing housework after finishing the exercises, while reciting the Fa at the same time. I would persevere in reciting the entire Hongyin I and Hongyin II at least once a day. In the afternoon I would study the Fa for one and a half hours. After dinner, I would practice the fifth exercise and then study the Fa. I would also consistently send forth righteous thoughts eleven times a day. Each time before I go out to distribute truth-clarification materials, I would first recite the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts, and the effect has been very good. I would travel to each of the fifteen towns nearby one after another with another fellow practitioner. We would send forth righteous thoughts while clarifying the truth and giving out materials. Many people agreed to withdraw their membership from the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.

I realized that whatever we do, we have to first study the Fa well. Only when our hearts are filled with the Fa can we have strong righteous thoughts; only with strong righteous thoughts, can we be rid of our attachment to fear, and all work will be able to proceed smoothly after that. For instance, in a local secondary school, a large banner defaming Dafa and poisoning sentient beings was posted on one of the walls of the building. When I heard about this, I traveled to the school in the dark with another practitioner. We tore down the poster and burned it. At that time, a few teachers and students walked past us but none of them made a sound, as if they did not see it at all. When the CCP posted "Crime Reporting Procedures", which contained Dafa-defaming content, in front of people's homes, I tore them off and clarified the truth to everyone I could. Sometimes the CCP had people write slogans on the walls praising itself and poisoning the minds of sentient beings. In these cases, I would go there at night to paint over the slogans and remove the writings.

Today, many people will actively walk up to me to ask for truth clarification materials. Meanwhile, nobody from the CCP wants to face me. When I see them sometimes, I would walk up to clarify the truth to them, and they would make some excuse and get away in a rush. Now, whenever I see someone, I clarify the truth, encourage them to withdraw from the Communist Party and all of its related organizations, and give them some materials. Once, I was rushing to a town bazaar to clarify the truth when suddenly my husband, who was working in a different city, called, asking me to help him borrow some money for an emergency. I was hesitant at first: should I go clarify the truth or try to find money to borrow for him? After weighing the situation, I decided that clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings was the most important thing and I could help him get money after I finished my tasks. Therefore, I went to the town center to clarify the truth and the effect was very good. On my way home, my husband called again, saying that he had already managed to borrow the money and did not need my help anymore. I thought to myself, as a Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification period, I must give Dafa first priority all the time. Once our hearts are righteous and strong, Teacher will arrange everything else for us well!
