(Clearwisdom.net) On the first weekend in September 2006, Falun Gong practitioners participated in an annual cultural festival in the old city of Liesel. More than one hundred organizations took part in this activity. Practitioners introduced Falun Gong and told people about the persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) against Falun Gong. People were attracted to the striking pictures, beautiful paper lotus flowers, and balloons, all of which emphasized "Falun Dafa is good" and "The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." Many people came forward to acquire informational materials.

A Chinese couple came to our exhibition table. They told the practitioners that they had formerly understood Falun Gong from a different point of view, but today they especially came to buy Falun Gong books and the exercise instruction tapes. The practitioners asked them whether they had read the editorial published by The Epoch Times newspaper entitled, "The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party." They said that they had watched the Nine Commentaries on New Tang Dynasty TV and felt strongly that all Chinese people should read this book.
People came to the Falun Gong exhibition table in an endless stream. Several young men from the Boy Scouts Association also came to have a look and they had a friendly conversation with practitioners. When they heard that the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong for seven years, they were shocked. A practitioner told them, ‘‘Everyone has a responsibly to help to end this persecution as soon as possible.’’ The young men nodded and said that they would visit the Falun Gong websites to find more information.
A woman who came to the festival on the first day was attracted by the beautiful paper lotus flowers when she passed our table. She learned about Falun Gong being persecuted by the CCP and the meaning and significance of the lotus flower. She also learned how to make paper lotus flowers. Just before she left, she obtained some leaflets and a copy of the French version of the Nine Commentaries. The next day, she brought her mother to visit the booth and gave the practitioners her own lotus flowers that she had learned to make the previous day. She said, "I was moved by you, and what I see are your kind hearts."
During the two days of the festival, the beauty of Falun Dafa quietly permeated people’s hearts. After the activity, two teachers from a qigong school came to visit us and said with a smile, "Many of us are paying attention to you. But there is one point I cannot understand: that is, why you don’t charge?" Practitioners told them that Falun Gong is a practice for mind and body; cultivating the mind is the first thing, the exercises are second. They explained that you cannot pursue fame or money by cultivating Falun Gong; improving the mind is the key. The practitioners also demonstrated the five sets of exercises and talked about the principles of Falun Gong. The qigong teachers were very interested and each of them obtained a copy of the French edition of Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa.
