(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency reported on September 17 that the Falun Dafa Association issued a statement calling on Hu Jintao to have the CCP regime respect human rights and stop persecuting Falun Gong. The statement called on the Chinese government not to tell lies and see citizens as enemies, and to stop the persecution of religions and dissidents to help build a harmonious society. Otherwise, the lying and trampling of human rights will be criticized by the international community.

The United States recently released its 2006 International Religious Freedom Report. For the eighth consecutive year, China was named as a "Country of Particular Concern." The Beijing Xinjing Daily recently reported the staged self-immolation incident in 2001. Thus, Taiwan Falun Dafa Association made a special statement.

The association pointed out that the staged self-immolation incident was set up by CCP regime to frame Falun Gong. The fact was revealed by IED on August 14, 2001, "The regime points to a supposed self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square on January 23, 2001 as proof that Falun Gong is an "[Chinese government's slanderous words deleted]." However, we have obtained a video of that incident that in our view proves that this event was staged by the government. We have copies of that video available for distribution."

The New Tang Dynasty TV Station in North America made a movie named "False Fire," based on the facts from the video, to systematically analyze the multiple suspicious points in the staged self-immolation site. The movie exposed the CCP regime's staging the self-immolation to persecute Falun Gong. The movie won the honor award in the 51st Columbus International Movie Festival in November 2001. More than 600 movies participated in the festival.

The Washington Post published an investigation report on February 4, 2001, ten days after the staged self-immolation incident. Through investigation in person, the reporter found that no one had seen that the so-called self-immolator practitioner Liu Chunling in the Chinese propaganda had practiced Falun Gong. The report, titled "Human Fire Ignites Chinese Mystery Motive for Public Burning Intensifies Fight Over Falun Gong," exposed the CCP regime's cruel plot.

The Taiwan Falun Dafa Association pointed out that the CCP brutally persecute religious people including Falun Gong. It is a fact recognized by the international community. For the eighth consecutive year, China was named as a "Country of Particular Concern." Thus, the association protests the CCP regime's persecution of religions and human rights.
