MPs who attended the rally included one of the authors of the
independent investigation report David Kilgour, MP Irwin Cotler, former Minister
of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, MP Keith Martin, official opposition
critic of foreign affairs, MP Wayne Marston, New Democratic Party foreign
affairs critic, and MPs Larry Bagnell, Libby Davies, Diane Bourgeois, Jim
Peterson and Peter Julian. Dr. Reuven Bulka, Chairman of the Organ Donation Committee of
the Eastern Ontario Kidney Foundation, and veteran diplomat Brian McAdam also
made speeches at the rally. The most evil thing is happening in front of our eyes Reuven Bulka, Chairman of the Organ Donation Committee of the
Eastern Ontario Kidney Foundation, said, "Let us review the time between
1930 to 1940, when people in the world refused to believe the things happening
in the Nazi Germany, they said that human beings were unable to do such evil
things. We later knew that man can do the worst things." Bulka continued, "Human beings can be debased to such
extent that they remove organs from living people for profit. Some people said
it is too inhumane to be true. Don't be trapped! Human history has repeatedly
told us those barbaric people can do the most evil thing, and it is happening in
front of our eyes. [...] Facing such a crime, we can't wait till tomorrow, we
can't wait to get it resolved after the Olympic Games. People there are being
murdered, and this is the trampling on human rights that needs the most
attention from the world. No other human rights abuse is worse than this." David Kilgour gave an example in his speech. During the World
Transplantation Conference held in Boston on July 23, a German doctor mentioned
in his talk with a doctor from Tianjin, China, that there are about seven
hundred organ transplantation operations in all hospitals in Germany every year.
Two thousand of the same transplants occur in hospitals in Tianjin. When asked
about the source of the organs, the Chinese doctor told him to go to ask the
Falun Gong practitioners outside the hotel. Kilgour said that if someone mentioned having gone to China
for organ transplants, and said that the organs were from young people, ...
actually, they were from Falun Gong practitioners who persist in
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Never retreat in the face of tyranny, the power of the truth
is mightier Bulka said, "We will mobilize every possibly available
resource in the entire society, make sure that every MP signs the petition of
protest (atrocities). This means the work day and night. The only way is to
never give up trying." Veteran international human rights lawyer, former Minister of
Justice and Attorney General of Canada, MP Irwin Cotler, highly praised the two
authors of the independent investigation report. He said they are the most
powerful human rights advocates, speaking from a judicial perspective. He also
expressed the Chinese government must respond to the allegations. New Democratic Party proposes a motion to urge the government
to take action MP Keith Martin suggested all parties combine their efforts
to stop the CCP's human rights abuses. He said the issue of (harvesting organs
from living Falun Gong practitioners) is not an issue of parties, but an issue
of basic human rights. New Democratic Party foreign affairs critic, MP Wayne Marston,
has proposed a motion to the parliament--Motion 162, calling on the government
to raise concerns over China's human rights via the United Nations and
appropriate multi-national entities. To sustain international attention to the matter, Mr. Kilgour
and Mr. Matas have visited Geneva (the United Nations), Hong Kong, Brussels,
Paris, Berlin, London, Washington DC, New York, Boston, Australia, New Zealand,
Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and other places. Kilgour was satisfied with
his trip to these countries. He said that his next step will be going to the
United Nations (in the United States) and some Asian countries, so that more
people will learn about the truth of the CCP's harvesting organs from living
Falun Gong practitioners. Posting date: 9/28/2006 |
