Taiwan: Falun Gong Practitioners Perform at the Rice Noodle and Rice Ball Festival in Hsinchu (Photos) By a practitioner from Hsinchu, Taiwan
(Clearwisdom.net) Rice noodles and rice balls are the famous, traditional
foods in Hsinchu, Taiwan. To promote these traditional foods, the Hsinchu City
government and non-governmental organizations hold a "Rice Noodle Rice Ball
Festival" every September. Many groups participate. Falun Gong
practitioners performed at the last festival and were very much appreciated by
the audience, so the organizers invited them to perform their waist drums again
this year. Waist drum performance Young practitioners sing The festival was held on September 24, 2006. Falun Gong practitioners
performed on their waist drums at the opening ceremony. After the waist drums,
practitioners also played violin, flute and erhu. Twelve young practitioners
sang two songs and recited one of Master Li's poems. The host, who is also a practitioner, introduced Falun Gong to the audience.
She told how Falun Gong has spread to more than 80 countries, although the
Chinese Communist Party persecutes it. She told the audience that Falun Gong is
a great benefit to society and encouraged the audience to learn more about Falun
