Praises for NTDTV's 2007 Chinese New Year Spectacular

(Clearwisdom.net) My wife and I went to New Tang Dynasty Television's 2007 Chinese New Year Spectacular in San Francisco. I had always thought that I didn't need to go see the show because I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My wife has not started to practice Falun Gong. This year I bought two tickets for the show to give her another opportunity to understand the truth about Falun Gong. Little did I expect that I would be deeply touched that night by the performance.

From the moment the curtain rose, it was as though I had been taken into a world of divine beings. In the midst of white clouds, a lady in white slowly glided to the center of the stage, followed by a group of men and women in splendid, richly-colored costumes. Their sheer entrance won a thunder of applause. I believe that everyone was completely mesmerized by their immensely magnificent and sacred presence. Each portion of the program was embraced by the audience's applause. Each act was short but extremely artistic and meticulously designed. Every scene seemed like an entire show by itself, leaving the audience wanting more and lost in the memory of it. Yet you somehow felt there was some inner meaning that connected all the acts together. Each scene told a story, and the entire evening became a giant epic of these interconnected stories. The dancers' costumes were radiant, and in each act they wore a different style of costume. These dance costumes, very different from those in everyday people's dance performances, lent themselves to a feeling of purity and righteousness. Each Chinese ethnic dance may have had different styles of movements, but they all shared something in common: their movements were very gentle, graceful, spiritual, and inordinately ethereal. The dancers used their body language to show the audience the nature of Falun Gong.

The accompanying music was the most beautiful I have ever heard. As though it came down from heaven, the music was equally ethereal and mesmerizing. In addition, the digitally-imaged background kept changing to help tell the story, complimenting the dancers' performances. It felt as though the digital backgrounds for "Flying Goddesses" and "Status Restored" were designed by divine beings themselves as the characters in the stories soared into the sky. As for the vocal portions, they were highly professional. They differed from ordinary vocal performances in that the vocal artists' methods and skills were very refined and unique. It sounded like heavenly music to my ears. When the singers approached the end of the song, they were able to project their voices from near to far, delivering a strong three-dimensional feeling.

The program hosts were humorous and lively. Between acts, they clarified the truth about Falun Gong in a very ingenious way, adding fine touches to the show.

The two-hour performance felt very short. The audience showered the performers with applause and standing ovations. They did not want to leave. They lingered, apparently wishing to stay longer in this righteous field filled with peace and compassion. That night they temporarily forgot about their many worries and troubles and the chaos of the secular world. Here, their weary souls were comforted. Those who have understood and accepted the truth about Falun Gong have seen through the nature of the evil Chinese Communist Party and, thus, built a good foundation for their future.

Not until now have I understand more in depth the significance of promoting the Chinese New Year Spectacular. I have done a few things to help sell tickets, but in hindsight I did not truly understand its significance. I thought that the form of "performing arts" could not adequately clarify the truth. Now that I think of it, Teacher has already taught us the relevant Fa in "Teaching the Fa at the Meeting on Writing Music," but I paid scant attention to it. Our revered Teacher has spent a great deal of time and effort to prepare for the Spectacular. It follows that Teacher has incorporated His mighty Fa power, as well as Falun Gong practitioners' wisdom, into the program. After everyday people see the show, it becomes almost as easy as ABC to purge the Chinese Communist Party's evil culture from them and to destroy their bad notions. All the practitioners who are not diligent in their cultivation practice should face their shortcomings and sense the urgency to clarify the truth to sentient beings. Those who have not fully stepped forward must step forward for the Fa as soon as possible and assimilate themselves into the powerful trend of validating the Fa so as not to let our revered Teacher down.
