Recent Developments in the Persecution of Ms. Wang Bo's Family in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 10, 2006, the Court of the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) in Hebei Province illegally tried the family of Falun Dafa
practitioner Wang Bo of Shijiazhuang City. According to Chinese Communist Party
law, from the date the court accepts a case, it takes one month to six weeks at
most for the verdict to be given. It has been two months since the court opened
the case. Relatives of the family have taken turns inquiring at the court in the
Changan District. After painstaking efforts, they managed to contact the judge,
who said, "We had a verdict, but it still needs to be approved by the
Intermediate Court in Shijiazhuang City. The final result should come out this
week or next week." It was strictly emphasized that they only notify the
tried parties of the verdict and no one else, including relatives. The CCP never abides by even its own laws when they deal with Falun Dafa
practitioners. Having a trial is only a showcase to deceive the world's people.
The Department of Public Security for the Province manipulated the trial and
handed down the illegal sentence. At the trial, the Procuratorate
accused Wang Bo's family of "particularly grave crimes." The Party
intended to give severe sentences to the three of them. Relatives and friends
are seeking help from lawyers and waiting for the verdict from the first trial.
They are actively involved in rescuing them. If the results of the first trial are not available, a lawyer will not be
able to be involved in the second trial. CCP officials don't allow relatives to
see the three Wang family members or talk to them on the phone. There was no
lawyer to defend them in the first trial. In the first trial the presiding judge promised the return of 40,000 yuan
and three boxes of clothes and other items confiscated from Wang Bo's family.
But Li Xingshan from the National Protection Team in Shijiazhuang City is still
in possession of the property. The judge expressed his inability to order that
those things be returned to Wang Bo's family and asked their relatives to go to
see Li themselves. We ask everyone in China and outside of China to become aware of this case
and show your support. Here we quote Article 35 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of
China: "Citizens have the freedom of expression, publication, assembly,
association, protest, and demonstration." The Procuratorate of the CCP did
not follow the law in prosecuting Wang Bo's family. Wang Bo, her father, Wang
Xinzhong, and her mother, Liu Shuqin, were exercising their basic
rights--freedom of expression and publication, both granted by the
constitution--when they published articles on the Minghui website to let people
know how they were persecuted, hung up banners telling people that the CCP would
be eliminated and asking people to quit the Chinese Communist Party, and printed
and distributed fliers to tell people the truth about Falun Gong. They didn't
violate the law or commit any crimes.
