(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Jian, 58, was an accountant employed by the Mishan City Roof Tile Factory.

Ms. Zhang Jian started practicing Falun Dafa in August 1997 when she was suffering from thirteen diseases, including heart and lung problems. She was the volunteer assistant in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, she went to the provincial government and to Beijing to validate Dafa, appeal, and clarify the truth to people.

She went to the provincial government, but no one was willing to see her. When she went to Beijing to appeal, she was arrested, taken back to Mishan City, and detained in the Mishan City Detention Center. The CCP Political and Security Office Head Meng Qingqi (male) of the Mishan City Police Department confiscated two cell phones from her and then released her, saying that he did so only because he was a good friend of her husband. When she went to Beijing to appeal again, Meng Qingqi had her sentenced to one year of forced labor in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp located in Harbin City, where she endured cruel torture. She was deprived of sleep, kicked and punched, and tied onto an iron chair for eight days. The guards also attempted to force her to curse Falun Dafa and Master Li. Facing the inhuman torture, she maintained her firm faith in Falun Dafa and walked out of the labor camp.

Despite the ongoing persecution by the CCP and being harassed at her home by the police, Ms. Zhang was fully devoted to clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings. Unfortunately, at 9:00 a.m. on June 27, 2006, she suddenly fell ill and died at 6:40 p.m. the same day.

Ms. Zhang's friends and family went to the hospital to say farewell to her. The Mishan City 610 Office head Yu Xiaofeng (male) and police officers recorded the names of all the people who attended, and they especially noted the practitioners who attended.

The persecution of cultivators of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is ongoing. More than thirty Falun Dafa practitioners in the Jixi Region (including Mishan City) have died as a result of the cruel persecution.
