(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Haishan, who was blind, had retired from the 19th Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Missile Technology (CAMT). Because he was determined to practice Falun Gong, he was illegally arrested and sent to a brainwashing center at the end of the summer in 2002 and in the summer of 2006, where he was subjected to torture. On November 26, 2006, Mr. Guo died at the age of 71 as a result of the persecution.

Zhu Yanhua, chairman of the 610 Office at the Chinese Academy of Missile Technology (CAMT), and his henchmen from the Fengtai District Branch of Beijing City Public Security and Donggaodi Police Station started to arrest and torture local Falun Gong practitioners in the spring of 2006. They followed practitioners, tapped their phone lines, threatened their bosses, illegally arrested them and ransacked their homes. They stole many PCs, printers, DVD burners, Falun Gong books, and other Falun Gong materials from practitioners' homes. Since the spring of 2006, they have arrested a dozen practitioners and sent them to either a forced brainwashing center or a forced labor camp. Even a blind, elderly man such as Mr. Guo Haishan and his wife, Xu Xiuying were not spared. In addition, Zhu Yanhua threatened to send those practitioners directly to the forced labor camp if they refused to renounce Falun Gong in writing.

The following is more news about another Falun Gong practitioner working at CAMT, Ms. Ren Hanfen, who died at the age of 73 in May 2002 during an arrest attempt by the local 610 Office. Zhu Yanhua used to work as the Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Committee at the 19th Research Institute of CAMT. He engineered the arrest of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Yanli and had her sent to a forced brainwashing center despite the fact that her baby was merely four months old. After Ms. Shi escaped from the center, she had no choice but to flee from her home to avoid further persecution. Ms. Shi lived with another practitioner, Ms. Ren Hanfen. Zhu worked closely with the Public Security Bureau, the State Security Bureau, Street Administration Offices and special agents to search the area thoroughly and found where the two practitioners were living. When the police besieged the building, the two practitioners decided to try to escape by climbing down the building by a rope. Unfortunately, the rope snapped and both of them fell to the ground. Ms. Ren Hanfen died instantly and Ms. Shi Yanli's thigh was broken. Although she was sent to the hospital right away, Ms. Shi was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp before she even recovered.
