Taiwan: The Presbyterian Church Prays for Falun Gong (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 21, 2007, the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan held a candlelight vigil to pray for the victims of the "9.21 Earthquake" and for Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted in China. This was the second time that the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan prayed for Falun Gong after they learned about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) organ harvesting of imprisoned practitioners last August.

Reverend Luo Rongguang expressed that September 21 is the International Day of Peace established by the United Nations. People all over the world, who love peace, pray in their own ways for peace.

Praying for victims of the persecution

The church prayed for Falun Gong practitioners who have been persecuted in China, and hoped they would have freedom as soon as possible.

Professor Chang Ching-his, the director of the Taiwanese Falun Dafa Association, and Wang Fenglan, the executive chief of the Asian Chapter of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), attended the candlelight vigil.

Professor Chang Ching-his, the director of the Taiwanese Falun Dafa Association, and Wang Fenglan, the executive director of the Asian Chapter of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, attended the candlelight vigil. Professor Chang briefly introduced the facts of the persecution and talked about the organ harvesting atrocities. Wang Fenglan introduced the activities and mission of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, and the Human Rights Torch Relay organized by CIPFG. She told the attendees that as of August 28, 2007, more than 150 cities in 37 countries have registered to be part of the Human Rights Torch Relay.

The Church held a similar candlelight vigil on August 7, 2006. They invited Professor Chang Chinghsi and Hu Naiwen to give speeches on human right violations in China and the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
