Ms. Li Qiongying from Chengdu City Suffers from Savage Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Qiongying lives in No. 2 Group, No.19 Division, Huaqiao Town (in Xinjin County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province). She has brought up her child by herself and made a living together with her child.

In January 1999 she started practicing Falun Gong. Since then, she has been strict with herself at all times according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. She got rid of her bad temper in a short time and maintained a good relationship with her sisters and neighbors. As a result, she regained her health, and the periarthritis in her shoulder and numbness in her thigh disappeared.

One day in March 2000, after the Jiang regime began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Li Qiongying was doing business on the street in Huaqiao Town, Xinjin County. Officials Zhang Jixiang and Gao Xiang of the Town Government and policeman Wang Jianjun from the Town Police Station took her to the office of the Town Government, where they tried to force her to renounce her practice of Falun Gong. She refused to give up her belief, so they illegally detained her for 12 hours (from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.).

In the middle of April 2000, Huaqiao Police Station head and Town Government official Luo Mingkun, Yang Zhuobin (village Party secretary) and Luo Liuyi (village head) forcibly took her to the Baoshan Village Brainwashing Center in Xinjin County to persecute her, leaving her 13-year-old child destitute and alone.

In May of the same year, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. As a result, Peng Shuquan (the former head of a police station in Xinjin County and Luo Mingkun (Town Government official) took her to Xinjin County. She was detained for 15 days and later transferred to the detention center and detained for 15 additional days. Official Gao Xiang (from the Huaqiao Town Comprehensive Administration Office) took her to Huaqiao Town Government, where they extorted her sole 14 yuan from her. At the time and under the circumstance of nobody being at her home, Official Luo Mingkun and the policemen of the Town Police Station took a dozen people and broke into and ransacked her home. They took rice, vegetable seed, rape oil, clothes, quilts, an electric fan and a recorder from her home. They completely destroyed the bowls, cupboard, windows, two iron pans and bed in her home. When she went back home, her home was in extreme disorder. Official Luo Mingkun repeatedly forced her to hand in her deposit book. Because she had no deposit book, they searched her home all over, but in vain. Luo Mingkun was so angry that he beat her on the face with the mineral water bottle he was holding at the time. In addition, he ferociously said, "We will bankrupt you financially and defame your reputation." On the afternoon of that same day, they took her to the Town Police Station again and detained her for 10 days. During that period of time, officials Zhang Jixiang and Gao Xiang of the Town Government forced her to pay money. Because she failed to pay, they beat her on the face.

During the time of her detentions, her child was very helpless and nobody took care of him. The officials of the Town Government often went to his school to harass him, which led to his being scared of going to school. His teachers and classmates looked for him everywhere, but to no avail.

No sooner after she returned home did the perpetrators take her to the police station and detain her for another 15 days. In December 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal and validate Dafa once more. At the end of that same month, she returned home and made a living by carrying customers in a pedicab. When she was driving the pedicab in the street on January 18, 2001, Officer Zhang Jixiang (of the Town Government) and two directors of the police station arrested her and took her to the Town Police Station. They detained her for 20 days. Then they transferred her to the detention center to detain her for seven months. As a result, because nobody helped her harvest an acre of vegetable seed and wheat, the crops rotted in the field in 2001. In addition, after her return home, policemen continued to go to her home and harass her.
