(Clearwisdom.net) Tokyo's 31^st Nakano-ku Festival with a parade and stage performances was held on October 6, 2007. It was a crisp and pleasant autumn day. Falun Gong practitioners participated in the event and demonstrated Falun Dafa's beauty and brought the good message of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to the audience.

Vigorous Tai Drummers

Nakano-ku is near Shinjuku in Tokyo where there is the highest density of population. Falun Gong practitioners' performance announcement has long been included in promotional materials and webpage for the festival celebration. The Nakano-ku parade attracted more than 1,000 participants from 30 groups. Falun Gong practitioners' contingent was composed of four sections, including Tai Drummers' team, practitioners in Tang Dynasty costumes, celestial maidens troupe, and Falun Gong exercise demonstration team. A huge banner reading "Falun Dafa" in both Chinese and English was held by two practitioners who took the lead of the Falun Gong contingent. Behind the banner was the vigorous Tai Drummers' team, and next were practitioners in Tang Dynasty costumes holding Falun Dafa vertical banners. Directly following them was a banner reading "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" held by two practitioners, and then were the celestial maidens, elegantly dancing to beautiful music. At the end of the contingent was a large banner reading "Falun Gong" held by two practitioners and a group of Falun Gong practitioners in yellow T-shirts who demonstrated the exercises. Falun Gong practitioners' contingent earned much praise from the organizer and audience for its majesty and splendor.

When the parade reached its destination, Falun Gong practitioners lined up neatly in front of the Nakano-ku government, together with tens of thousands of people who had participated in the opening ceremony of the festival. Many MPs and citizens from different countries had photos taken with Falun Gong practitioners.

After the parade, practitioners distributed a large number of materials introducing the general public to Falun Dafa's beauty and the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong.

At the same time, at another venue for the festival event--the Nakano-ku Culture Center-- practitioners presented a performance on stage. They demonstrated the five exercises to the audience. A practitioner gave a special introduction to the exercise demonstration, and the audience learned to practice Falun Gong on the spot. Practitioners also presented wonderful dance performances. Their pure, peaceful and graceful dancing gained a round of applause and cheers from the audience.

Falun Gong practitioners who participated in the festival event said that the Japanese people were fond of their traditional performances. They will continue taking part in such events, and bringing the wonderfulness of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to more Japanese people.
