On October 6, 2007, the City of Independence, Missouri, held its third annual Heritage Festival in McCoy Park. More than 20 groups representin different cultures attended the festival. Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the exercises, and performed the lotus flower dance. The host thanked the practitioners: "Thank you for the excellent performance. This is the Chinese culture that we have been looking for." Many spectators accepted Falun Gong materials.
