Falun Gong Practitioners Sun Yanhe and Li Wenzhi Taken to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp

A few months ago practitioners Mr. Sun Yanhe and Mr. Li Wenzhi from Shulan City, Jilin Province were taken to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp. The guards ordered inmates to beat and kick the practitioners, lash them with bamboo sticks and pour cold water on them.

Mr. Sun Yanhe, 50, is from Pingan Town, Shulan City, Jilin Province. He was arrested on the evening of March 3, 2007. He was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor and taken to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp on April 10, 2007. Later that same day, male guards Li Yunbo, Zhao Yunfu, Zhao Qingshan, Zhao Chunhui and Tang Bo physically assaulted Sun Yanhe and coerced him into writing a guarantee statement. The attack caused Sun Yanhe to vomit blood and lose consciousness.

Mr. Li Wenzhi, 39, was born in Hunchun City, Jilin Province, and lived in Dongguang Town, Wangqing County. Officers from Dongguang Town Police Station arrested him on April 18, 2007 because he practiced Falun Gong. They sentenced him to 18 months of forced labor and took him to the Jiutai Forced Labor Camp on May 17, 2007, where guard Zhang Jimin and inmate Wang Zhongliang beat him. Li Wenzhi's son Li Shaozhen is ten years old, and his life is very difficult.
