(Clearwisdom.net) On August 15, 2007, Wang Hongwei, a practitioner from Tongzhou, Beijing, was arrested by Chaoyang Police Department officers. He is now detained in Chaoyang Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Hongwei, 34 years old, is a practitioner from Tongzhou, Beijing.

On August 15, 2007, he was distributing truth clarification materials around Sanjianfang. Changying police officers and agents of the 610 Office arrested him. His house was searched. Chaoyang Police Department authorities threatened that a decision would be made on his case in six weeks (from August 15).

Wang Hongwei was persecuted many times for persisting in his cultivation and for distributing truth clarification materials. In 2001, while he was sending emails clarifying the truth in an Internet cafe, he was reported by the person in charge of the cafe and was sentenced to four and half years in Qianjing Jail, Team 12. During his detention, the jail officials forced prisoners to work making products that earned the jail huge profits. Once when he was manufacturing footballs, a needle stabbed Mr. Wang in his left eye, and his retina was damaged. Although he did not become totally blind, the sight in his left eye was severely compromised. In 2005, just before he was due for release, since he refused to be "transformed," he was locked in a small cell in a storage room by director Chen Jun and the chief of the jail district, Meng Fanguo. Police instigated criminal inmates to abuse and humiliate Mr. Wang. This continuous torture made Mr. Wang's eyes become swollen, making his poor eyesight even worse.

At the end of 2005, Mr. Wang was finally released. Due to the cruel persecution and economic suppression, he can only make a living by distributing newspapers. He only has an income of 600 yuan per month. At the end of 2006, Mr. Wang was again reported by someone. One day when he was distributing newspapers, he was arrested by the police and 610 Office personnel. His house was searched. His mother, also a practitioner, was also arrested. His mother was released on the same day. Mr. Wang was detained in Tongzhou Detention Center. He resisted the persecution and was released one month later.

Mr. Wang was arrested again on August 18, 2007, and his house was searched. He is now in Chaoyang Detention Center in Changyingxili No.1, the Chaoyang District.
