Practitioner Ms. Cheng Shuxiang and Ms. Du Shufeng Sentenced to Prison Covertly and Illegally

(Clearwisdom.net) Under the coercion of the Tianqiao District 610 Office in Jinan City, Shandong Province, the Tianqiao District Court covertly held a court session and illegally sentenced practitioners Ms. Cheng Shuxiang and Ms. Du Shufeng to prison on September 28, 2007.

On April 25, 2007, Ms. Cheng Shuxiang and Ms. Du Shufeng, practitioners from Jinan City, were taken into custody by officers from the Beiyuan Road Police Station in Tianqiao District, while they were distributing truth clarification materials. Li Mei (female) and Wang Hui (female), officers from the Tianqiao District 610 Office, madly searched the homes of the two practitioners but came up empty-handed. However, Ms. Cheng and Ms. Du were still held in the Jinan City Detention Center located in Erxian Village, Zhonggong Town. Their families were not allowed to visit them or even bring clothing to them.

The administrators of the Tianqiao District 610 Office violated legal regulations and detained the two practitioners for too long. In addition, when the court session was held on September 5, 2007, the case was set aside due to insufficient evidence. The administrators of the Tianqiao District 610 Office and the Political and Judiciary Committee were not happy with the result and applied pressure on the Tianqiao District Court. As a result, the court held another session and illegally sentenced Ms. Cheng Shuxiang to prison for four years and sentenced Ms. Du Shufeng to three and half years on September 28, 2007.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Xiaoran was also brought to court recently, and the outcome needs further investigation.

Ms. Du Shufeng: 86-531-88973391 (home)
