Eight Practitioners in Qian'an City, Hebei Province, Recently Taken into Custody

(Clearwisdom.net) At noon on October 11, 2007, Ms. Liu Xiaoyuan, employed by Qian'an City Industry and Commerce Bank in Hebei Province, was taken away by the police and her home ransacked. Ms. Liu's whereabouts is currently unknown.

On October 12, Mr. Yuan Chunlin, who worked for Industry and Commerce Bank, was taken away by the police and had his home ransacked. The police seized his computer, printer, and TV antenna. That same day, Mr. Li Yankui of Agricultural Bank was also taken away by the police. The fates of Yuan Chunlin and Li Yankui are not known.

On the night of October 10, Ms. Cui Qingru, 45 years old, retired employee of Qian'an City Agricultural Bank, had her home ransacked by the police. With no explanation, the police took her away and detained her in North Maowa Village, Qian'an Town.

After 11 a.m. on October 9, the police took Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wan Yonghong from Industry and Commerce Bank into custody, ransacked her home, and confiscated a notebook computer, satellite receiver, and personal belongings. Ms. Wan was tortured at a detention center and then taken to the ICU at Qian'an City People's Hospital. Details about her physical condition are unclear.

After 11 p.m. on October 1, Pu Yonglai, head of National Protection Unit of the Qian'an City Public Security Bureau, and several policemen broke in and seized practitioner Ms. Li Hongmei and her younger brother, Li Qingsong, in their hometown of Xiaozhuangzi Village, Jianchangying Town. The police confiscated Li Qingsong's suitcase, which contained 5000 yuan in cash, Dafa books, keys, and other personal belongings. Li Hongmei is being held at a brainwashing center in Qian'an City Seed Company; Li Qingsong's whereabouts is unknown.

On the night of September 28, practitioner Ms. Wen Qingfang of the Construction Bureau was taken by police to Qian'an City Seed Company Brainwashing Center, Beihuan Road, Qian'an City.

Falun Dafa practitioners from counties around Qianxi and Luanxian were also taken to Qian'an Detention Center.

The Politics and Protection Section of Qian'an City Public Security Bureau has changed its name to Qian'an City National Protection Brigade. This organization directly participates in the arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners. The malicious acts of Peng Minghui, the head of National Protection Brigade, are too numerous to list.
