(Clearwisdom.net) I am a practitioner who obtained the Fa at the end of 1998. On the night before I obtained the Fa, I had a vivid dream. There were shining stars in the dark blue sky. I was standing on the ground. Suddenly, a book emitting a bright light descended from the sky. Without a thought, I knelt down. There was another person beside me, whose image was not clear and who knelt down as well. The book opened in the middle and landed on my head. I woke up.

Before obtaining the Fa, I struggled with health issues and a lack of energy. My health issues included gallstones, sciatica, and several gynecological problems, which bothered me a lot. In order to seek treatment, I practiced another qigong. However, I did not experience any improvement after two or three years of practice. My home was located in the mountains where water was scarce. Even after working hard every year, our harvested crops were not enough to feed our whole family. My husband was a school teacher and only got a subsidy of 40 yuan each month, which was not enough to raise a family. We really could not afford expensive medical treatments. However, when I went to a hospital for an examination, the ultrasound test found a 1.4 cm stone. A doctor said that I needed surgery. However, for a poor family like mine, this would be a huge burden. No wonder the expression on my husband's face was bitter and stressed. Without money, I had to struggle to survive in pain and worry.

One day, a neighbor came to my home with a cassette tape. He wanted to use our cassette player to check if the sound on the tape was clear. (This was a poor area, and an average family could not afford to buy a cassette player. I had borrowed this cassette player from the school.) When I heard the tape, I had a very good feeling. When I asked if it was a Buddhist teaching, the old man knocked on his head and said yes. He said he wanted to borrow this cassette player so that my children's grandfather could listen to it. Perhaps I have a predestined relationship, because I followed him to his place. During my conversation with him, I learned that they had been studying the Fa and practicing the exercises for about three weeks. The two old men showed me the movements as they talked, and I followed without thinking.

After we completed the exercises, they handed me two books The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa and Zhuan Falun. I eagerly opened Zhuan Falun and started to read. When I read:

"BUDDHA LAW can allow people to thoroughly understand immeasurable, boundless worlds. Throughout all the ages, only one thing has been able to explain perfectly the human race, the many material dimensions that exist, all life, and the entire universe: BUDDHA LAW." ("ON BUDDHA LAW" in Zhuan Falun)

and

"I know the state of qigong all across the country, and I can say that right now, whether we're talking about inside China or abroad, I'm the only one who's really transmitting a practice that takes you to higher levels." ("The First Talk" in Zhuan Falun)

I felt surrounded by a warm atmosphere and a deep appreciation came from my heart. Then the old man was about to leave; I asked if I could borrow this book from him. He said that he had not finished reading it yet, but I could borrow the other book. He handed The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa to me.

I was overjoyed to hold the book back in my own hands. I finished reading it in the afternoon. In two days, I roughly learned the five sets of exercises. I still thought about Zhuan Falun and whether I could watch Master teaching the exercises in person. I just looked forward in anticipation.

Soon after, my husband got back from school and said, "Some people came to teach the exercises! They are at my elder brother's house. There is a big Dafa banner at the entrance to the street. They invited villagers to go to the school to watch Master's lecture video." I did not wait for dinner; I ran to the school immediately. A lot of people, young and old, male and female, crowded into a single classroom. I tried to concentrate on the video, but it was too noisy and I did not catch much. The next evening, my husband carried the school's television home to show the video. Many people came as well. I ignored other people's conversations and asked questions of the those who came to promote Dafa. I showed them my exercise movements and asked them to correct me.

I learned the exercises, and they showed Master's lectures. I listened quietly and got more excited as the lecture continued. It was as if Master was talking directly to me. I said to myself: "Master, please accept my sincere kowtow." Each day, I watched one or two tapes. After I finished watching Master's lecture tapes, I bought Zhuan Falun and The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa. Master said, "If a person can really obtain the Great Law he's just so fortunate." ("The Second Talk" in Zhuan Falun) I was so fortunate to obtain Dafa.

After I obtained Dafa, I tried my best to conduct myself according to Dafa's requirements. Regardless of how busy I was with the farm and at home, I never let up on my cultivation. My husband is a sincere and diligent person. He wanted me to get well quickly. He tried to do as much as he could of the housework, so I could have time to study the "Fa" and do the exercises. With his support, I was very diligent. I followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and continuously upgraded my xinxing. As a result, Master began to purify my body after a few days. In less than two months, all of my disease disappeared. My body felt extremely light. I finally got rid of my nickname "Medicine Box."

Zhuan Falun was like the book in my dream. In "The Eighth Talk" Master said, "I've opened the gate the widest ever." When I read this I thought about how Master has opened a giant gate to lead us to reach consummation and return to one's true nature, and it really depends on us whether we enter or not. The Fa has been presented before you; it is really up to you whether to cultivate or not." Thinking about this, I became emotional and happy. It is merciful Master who saved me from the bitter sea of illness. Master thus fundamentally eliminated the cause of illness--karma--and purified my body. I deeply felt the blessing of Master's benevolence. I became more diligent with Fa study. Under Master's guidance, I stepped on the path of true cultivation.

When Dafa's miracles manifested in my body and neighbors praised my good health and spirit, I told them about the benefits I had obtained from the Fa, and I persuaded my husband and neighbors to cultivate.

Shortly after many people with predestined relationships came to study the Fa and do the exercises, the massive persecution started, which got in the way of people's inclinations toward kindness. The Fa is so great. Why did the government turn against it? I thought of going to the street with a loudspeaker to let everyone in my community, town, and city know the truth, to let them know the wonderfulness of Dafa. However, news of arrests of other practitioners came to me, one after another. Under this pressure, I only stayed at home and quietly cultivated. As the persecution went on, my xinxing level dropped without my being aware of it. Interference within the family started to appear. One day, I had a quarrel with my husband because he suddenly said that he would quit practicing. He gave some excuses like his school environment had become difficult and he was so busy at work that he did not have extra time to practice. I pleaded with him, but he did not listen. He even said something that hurt me. I became angry and started to argue with him. My two children also often talked back to me. I spanked them when I could not tolerate it anymore. In my mind, I asked Master to forgive me. However, I still had an excuse: It is not right not to discipline the children. My husband's attitude became worse and worse. I blamed him for not being straightforward and rational. My mind was choked with blame and complaint. I could not concentrate on Fa study, and I could not stay tranquil when doing the exercises. Finally, I stopped reading the book and doing the exercises.

After I had stopped cultivating for one month, a senior practitioner delivered Master's new articles and some truth clarification materials to me one day. I read them and learned that the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square was plotted by Jiang's political regime to support its persecution of Falun Gong. It really was the greatest lie to the whole world. I completely learned the truth of this incident. I also studied Master's article "Towards Consummation" in Essentials for Further Advancement II. Master said:

"Studying the Fa with attachments is not true cultivation. Yet during the course of cultivation a person may gradually become aware of his fundamental attachments, rid himself of them, and thus meet the standard for a cultivator."

Thus I realized that what had happened around me was interference, which came from the evil. I also became aware of my attachment to blaming and complaining about others instead of being able to look inside myself when there was a conflict.

After I found my attachment, I talked with my husband peacefully and asked him not to give up Dafa and to continue the practice. He agreed without any hesitation. From then on, we not only read the material sent by that senior practitioner from a remote area, but we also distributed copies of them to the villages around us.

In the process of clarifying the facts, distributing materials, and persuading people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations, the fear in our minds became less and less. We became more confident in our cultivation. With the help of that senior practitioner, we began our path of cultivation in the Fa-rectification and caught up with Master's Fa-rectification process. In order to save more sentient beings and reduce the tasks for the senior practitioner (we did not have a materials printing site at that time), we had to go to a nearby town to make copies of the truth clarification materials sent by the senior practitioner for distribution. The first time we made copies, the store owner had no problem with it; however, the price was very high, one yuan per copy. Without much choice, we spent all the money we had to make copies to distribute. The second time we sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate interference from the evil to rob us financially, and the owner reduced the cost by 20 cents per copy. After a few times, the store owner no longer dared to allow us to make copies. She said she would be in trouble if the police found out about it. Later on, we had to go to a nearby city to make copies. We continued to do this for a period of time.

At the end of 2005, under Master's arrangement and with fellow practitioners' help, the senior practitioner set up a materials printing site, and we had enough materials to distribute. At the beginning of the persecution, the CCP members of a township arrested many practitioners, so the practitioners here were pretty late in stepping out to validate the Fa. Before 2005, the residents of this township had never heard of the distribution of truth clarification materials. Thus my husband and I decided to bring CDs and flyers to this township on a Sunday.

We we arrived in the township, we first sent forth righteous thoughts to ask Master to eliminate any interference with our distributing flyers and to protect us so that we could safely finish our distribution. We must enable the predestined people to be saved. After finishing sending forth righteous thoughts, we started on a lane with fewer people about. Our method was one person entered the lane, if he/she encountered any person, just say you are looking for a restroom. The other person stayed outside; if someone approached the lane, he/she would just cough to send the signal. We cooperated like this and distributed materials in rotation. We distributed all of our materials without a hitch. After we finished, we felt it was not easy to come here from far away. It was really a pity for this large township not to have a materials site. We organized another trip.

This time we brought several hundred copies with us. We left home at 2 o'clock. The sky was clear at that time. However, when we arrived at our destination, dark clouds suddenly covered the sky and heavy snow fell. At the beginning, I complained about the weather not being cooperative. Our materials would be covered by the snow if we distributed them. My second thought was that we should send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil that interfered with us and tried to prevent us from saving sentient beings. In order to let predestined people learn the truth, we should finish our task. When evening came, the snow stopped. We walked along the street, one on the left side and one on the right side, and we distributed materials. This time we basically covered large businesses, parks, markets, schools, hospitals, parking lots, and some residential compounds. There were some materials left over, so we took a cab and moved to another town to continue the distribution.

After we finished, it was too late to take a bus home. We were about 25 to 30 kilometers from home. We had to rely on our feet. Without any expectation, we just walked on our way. After we were about half-way down the road, we saw a car parked at the intersection ahead of us. We thought it must be arranged by Master. We talked with the driver, who was taking someone somewhere and would pass our village. Thus we got a ride home without any trouble.
