Mr. Wang Wenyuan from Longjing City, Jilin Province is Illegally Arrested by National Security Team

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of August 25, 2007, Mr. Wang Wenyuan, a Dafa practitioner from Kaishantun Town, Longjing City, was illegally arrested by Kaishantun Police Station and the National Security Team of Longjing City. They confiscated a computer, two printers, a copy machine, more than 1,000 yuan, and many printed materials. Mr. Wang's whereabouts are not known.

Since the CCP began the persecution of Falun Gong in July 20, 1999, the police and the Neighborhood Committee of the Longjing City, Kaishantun Township, government have actively participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa and practitioners. They registered practitioners, collected their names, arranged for staff from the Neighborhood Committee to monitor them, and did not allow practitioners to contact each other.

In July 2001, practitioner Ms. Piao Mingshu was reported, and the police from Kaishantun Police Station arrested her. They ransacked her home and confiscated many Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. Ms. Pu, 59, was left hanging in handcuffs at the Kaishantun Police Station for an entire night, then interrogated. She did not reveal where she obtained the truth-clarification materials, nor did she agree to give up practicing Falun Dafa. This angered police team leader Piao, who then transferred her to the National Security Team of Longjing City Police Station the next day, for further persecution. Ms. Pu was detained at Longjing City Detention Center for three months, sentenced to one year of forced labor, and sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City.

In May 2004, Dong Changtai and Li Xiaoxia, practitioners from Kaishantun Town, were arrested by Kaishantun Police Station, and the police destroyed many Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. Mr. Dong and Mr. Li were transferred to the National Security Team of Longjing City, where they were persecuted and interrogated. The police used many torture methods to learn the source of the truth-clarification materials. Mr. Dong and Mr. Li were detained there for several months. The police extorted about 10,000 yuan from both of their families before they were released. Several months after Mr. Dong's release, his neighbors could still see many scars on his face from torture during his interrogation.

In 2005, the team lead of Kaishantun Police Station, along with three people with guns, broke into Dafa practitioner Mr. Hong Shunyu's home. They turned his home into shambles, and confiscated Dafa books and many truth-clarification materials. Later, they sent Mr. Hong to the National Security Team of Longjing City where he was brutally beaten and tortured. During every interrogation session, the police beat and verbally abused him. According to our sources, Mr. Hong was detained there for several months and the police extorted more than 10,000 yuan from his family before he was released.

In late December 2006, practitioner Mr. Wu Jiwen, from Kaishantun, Yanji City, was arrested by the police from the National Security Team of Longjing City. Officers from Kaishantun Police Station and the National Security Team of Longjing City had been trying to arrest Mr. Wu since early 2004. They searched everywhere for him. Once he was reported by someone when he visited a friend in Kaishantun. The police surrounded his friend's home. With the help of some kindhearted people, Mr. Wu escaped. When he was later arrested, he was subjected to brutal persecution at the hands of the National Security Team of Longjing City. In January 2007, he was sentenced to a two-year forced labor term, and is now detained at Jiutaiyin Mahe Forced Labor Camp.

In early August 2007, CCP authorities began another round of persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners using the excuse that the the 17^th Party Congress was being held. Kaishantun's police began monitoring practitioners, and arrested three. They asked the public, who did not know the truth, to report practitioners and offered a reward. Several practitioners' homes were ransacked. On August 15, Mr. Li Xiaoxia and Mr. Wang Wenyuan were taken into custody again by the police from Kaishantun Police Station. According to Mr. Wang's neighbor, Kaishantun police and the Neighborhood Committee searched all the buildings near Mr. Wang's home on August 20.
