Today's report relates persecution incidents that involve 29 cities or counties in 14 provinces. Sixteen practitioners were subjected to maltreatment during detention, and at least 43 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Xiuzhi Arrested; Her Daughter Lives in Exile

Personnel from the Zhuozhou City National Security Division arrested 48-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuzhi and took her to the city's detention center on September 5, 2007. Three officers from the National Security Division broke into Ms. Wang's home and ransacked it. Ms. Wang's daughter did not dare to return home and lives in exile.

Ms. Wang is an employee from the city's Lingyun Group Ltd. in Hebei Province. She had gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, but was fired afterwards. She has been held in detention centers and custody centers. Personnel from the National Security Division and from her former employer's security section often harassed her. Ms. Wang's husband passed away in February 2006 as a result of fear from police harassment. Ms. Wang's 17-year-old daughter, Ms. Liu Xing, is an undergraduate student at the city university.

2. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Practitioner Zhou Wenyan Sentenced

Practitioner Mr. Zhou Wenyan is an employee of the Daqing City No.2 Oil Extraction Factory. He has been held for more than five months. Mr. Zhou has scabies and itches severely, which prevents him from sleeping. Though he is weak and pale, Datong City Court agents still sentenced him on September 21, 2007.

3. [Chongqing] Practitioner Mr. Jiang Zaihong from the Shapingba District, in his 40s; a Former Employee from the Changhang Company, Is Missing

4. [Shaanxi Province] Supplemental Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Zhang Shuling

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuling, 71 years old, lives in the residential compound at Xi'an Electronic Technology University. She went to deliver some clothing to a practitioner held at the Chang'an Brainwashing Center in the Chang'an County Worker's Recuperation Center on September 11, 2007. She did not return. Five plainclothes police agents from the Yanta District National Security Division in Xi'an City broke into Ms. Zhang's home at 9:00 p.m. several days later. They ransacked the place for two hours and confiscated one of Master's pictures, a cellphone, an MP3 player, and a personal phone book. They ordered Ms. Zhang's husband, a professor at the university, to pay 5,000 yuan, which they declared was "accommodation" money for brainwashing. Her husband refused to comply. Police then told him they would deduct the amount from Ms. Zhang's pension.

It is heard that another practitioner who had accompanied Ms. Zhang to deliver winter clothing was also arrested, and her home was also ransacked.

5. [Shandong Province] More than Ten Practitioners Are Presently Being Held at the Yantai City Brainwashing Center

6. [Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Ximei Arrested

Someone reported practitioner Ms. Wang Ximei, an employee from the Shandong Province Yan Mine Group, to police when she explained the truth about Falun Gong the afternoon of August 24, 2007. Officer Zheng Li from the Yan Mine Group's Jidong Police Department ransacked Ms. Wang's home.

7. [Wangdu County, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Liu Junran from Zhaozhuang Township Was Arrested on September 23, 2007, and Is Presently Being Held at the County's Detention Center

8. [Liangshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Guoshun Arrested

Official Yang Shaoliang led some officer from the Liangshan City National Security Division to practitioner Ms. Zhou Guoshun's home at 10:00 a.m. on September 19, 2007. They arrested her and put her into a detention center.

9. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Practitioner Ms. Dong Dongxiang passed by her own store and found three persons damaging the metal door at 1:00 a.m. on September 25, 2007. She then went to another practitioner's home nearby. However, the police who were committing crimes at the practitioner's home arrested her. Six practitioners were arrested that night. Their whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Dong had previously been sent to Shayang Forced Labor Camp twice.

11. [Guiyang City Guizhou Province] The Persecution of Two Practitioners

After practitioner Ms. Peng Zelan was taken to the Guizhou City's Zhongba Women's Forced Labor Camp, she was separated from the others and severely abused and mistreated. Her legs were swollen.

It is heard that practitioner Ms. Zhao Yue, an employee from the Guiyang Coal School, was sent to a brainwashing center after she had just been released from a forced labor camp in April 2007.

12. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Cheng Bi Held at a Detention Center

Ms. Cheng Bi, 40 years old, is an employee from the Dezhou City Zhongyuan Shuqi Company. Personnel from the Decheng District Police Department and from the Hubin Northern Street Police Station arrested her on September 14, 2007. They took her to the city's detention center at 6:00 p.m. that day. Her under-aged daughter was left at home without care, and she could not go to school.

Mr. Li Deli from Guan County was arrested on September 21, 2007. He is presently being held at the Tao County Detention Center in Hebei Province.

14. [Lianjiang County, Guangdong Province] Older Practitioners Pang Yongfeng and Xiuzhen Arrested

Ms. Pang Yongfeng, in her 70s, and Ms. Xiuzhen, 67 years old, are from Dapo Village, the Yanshanguan District, Lianjiang County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. They went to Guiping Town in Guangxi Autonomous Region to distribute truth clarification materials, and were reported. Personnel from the town's National Security Division arrested them. Police also went to their homes and confiscated a newly installed satellite receiver.

15. [Muleng City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioners Gao Yuqin, Zhang Xiulan and Lu Yonghe Held at the City's Detention Center

Personnel from the Hexi Police Station in Muleng City arrested Ms. Gao Yuqin and Ms. Zhang Xiulan on August 27, 2007. The city's National Security Division chief Zhou Jinsheng arrested practitioner Mr. Lu Yonghe from the Xichengzi District. The three practitioners are presently being held at the city's detention center. Ms. Gao has been on a hunger strike for a few days. She is in perilous condition.

16. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Luo Yueyin Sent into the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp

A security guard arrested 53-year-old Ms. Luo Yueyin from Guangdong Province at the Biguiyuan Community two months ago. The arrest happened when she distributed truth materials. Ms. Luo was sentenced to one year of forced labor, to be served at the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.

17. [Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Luquan City police arrested four practitioners on September 21, 2007, when they clarified the facts about Falun Gong to some workers near the southern No.2 Highway Circle in Shijiazhuang City.

18. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners were arrested near Tangxia Village in Guangzhou City the afternoon of September 23, 2007. They are presently being held at the Zhuguang Street Police Station.

19. [Rong County, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Xu Xiuchen and Her Husband, Mr. Guan Haibin, Arrested

About ten plainclothes police officers arrested practitioners Ms. Xu Xiuchen and Mr. Guan Haibin, her husband, from Rong County, Guangxi Autonomous Region, at 6:30 p.m. on June 27, 2007. The arrest happened when the couple was eating lunch at the Zhongjie Restaurant in Guinan Street. Officers put them into a police vehicle and covered their heads with clothes. They body-searched the couple and confiscated their pocket money and keys. They transferred the couple's motorcycle to the county's Xiujiang Hotel.

They used the stolen key and entered Ms. Xu and her brother's home. Ms. Xu's sister-in-law was at home. They ordered her to stand still and then confiscated a computer and a bank deposit book.

Ms. Xu was released the night of July 3, 2007, but Mr. Guan's whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xie Airong Taken to the Dongxihu Brainwashing Center

Practitioner Ms. Xie Airong is an employee from the Wuhan City Steamer Electrical Machine Factory. Her supervisor told her to come in for a talk on September 19, 2007. She disappeared, but it was later confirmed that she was sent to the city's Dongxihu Brainwashing Center.

Practitioners Ms. Xue Liangyan and Mr. Chen Yichuan were also arrested.

21. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Yang Chengye Arrested

Four policemen arrested Mr. Yang Chengye from the Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, at 10:00 p.m. on September 23, 2007. A Falun Gong truth materials production center was damaged.

22. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Han Xiulan Arrested Again

Officer Huifeng from the Cangzhou City 610 Office, Zhang Guofu from the Xinhua Police Station, and Zhang Yadong from the Daodong Police Station broke into Ms. Han Xiulan's home on July 31, 2007. They ransacked the place and arrested 70-year-old Ms. Han . She was taken to the city's detention center. Fortunately, they released her after several days of detention, but the police still monitor her. Policeman Zhang Guofu stated that the police would sentence Ms. Han to prison.

23. [Yuhuan County, Zhejiang Province] Several Practitioners Illegally Sentenced

Yuhuan County Court agents commenced a hearing of practitioners Ms. Wang Lijun, Ms. Wang Yaohua, Ms. Su Shufen, and Ms. Zhang Suzhi at 8:30 a.m. on August 21, 2007, but no verdicts were announced that day. The agents announced the verdicts on August 27, 2007, and informed the practitioners on September 4, 2007. Ms. Wang Lijun and Ms. Wang Yaohua were sentenced to seven years in prison; Ms. Su, three years; and Ms. Zhang, one and a-half years. The three practitioners with heavier sentences have appealed.

Ms. Wang Yaohua's husband, Mr. Liang, had stroke and became paralyzed the day of Ms. Wang"s trial.

24. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Zhu Yinglian Arrested from Her Home

Personnel from the Xigang Police Station in Dalian City arrested Ms. Zhu Yinglian from her home and took her to the city's detention center on September 12, 2007.

Practitioner Ms. Li Yinfen was sentenced to two years of forced labor on September 12, 2007, to be served in the city's forced labor camp. The policeman who arrested Ms. Li said that Ms. Li had been followed for five days.

25. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Xie Haiying Held at the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Xie Haiying from Zhuozhou City was arrested on August 16, 2007. He was taken to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp for a one-and-a-half year term. Personnel from the forced labor camp notified his family they could visit him a month later. When the family went to see him a month later, the labor camp officers forbade their visit, claiming that Mr. Xie "did not cooperate with the guards."

26. [Beijing] A Few Practitioners Arrested in the Huairou District

Practitioners Mr. Zhang Xiaohua and Mr. Hou from the Huairou District in Beijing were arrested when they listened to their MP3 players.

Practitioner Ms. Wu Zhanhua (not quite sure about her name) from Hebei Province was arrested in the Huairou District when distributing truth clarification materials.

27. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Zhucheng City Police Department colluded with officers from the Changcheng Town Police Department and from the Donglaozhuang Village Committee. They arrested five practitioners including the practitioner couple working in the village restaurant. A young practitioner was also arrested in the village. Two practitioners were fined from 3,000 up to 20,000 yuan. One of the practitioners escaped.

28. [Chongqing] A Material Production Center Damaged and Practitioners Arrested

Seven officers from the Kai County Police Department broke into practitioner Ms. Li Shaojun's home at 10:00 p.m. on September 24, 2007. They arrested her and confiscated a computer, a printer, some Dafa books ,and truth-materials.

Personnel from the Sijiqing Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Hualing at the entrance to the Zhaoyuan Park at 3:00 p.m. on September 23, 2007. His home was ransacked that night.

32. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Kai'an Town Police Department's deputy chief led several officers and went to practitioners Ms. Meng Jie and Mr. Zhang Wanjun's home at 11:00 p.m. on September 24, 2007. The two practitioners did not open the door, but the police pried the metal window open and broke into the home. They arrested the two practitioners and ransacked the place till 6:00 a.m. the next morning. There is so far no information about the fate of the six other practitioners who were arrested in Helong Town.

33. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Sheng Lianying Sentenced to Forced Labor

Police from Workers' Village Police Station arrested Ms. Sheng Lianying from her home at Workers' Village in Xigang District on July 19, 2007. The police also ransacked her home. Her son, who studies at a high school, was left uncared for at home. Ms. Sheng has been sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, sentenced to two years of forced labor.

34. [Huaihua, Hunan Province] Practitioner Ms. Mi Caiwen Arrested from Home

Practitioner Ms. Mi Caiwen from Houtang Township, Huangxikou Town, Chenxi County, Huaihua City, was arrested from her home at 5:00 a.m. on September 21, 2007. The police confiscated some Dafa books and one of Master's pictures. The township police station chief, Mi Changzheng, and township government official Liao Jiayuan participated in the arrest.
