Persecution of 70-year-old Practitioner Ms. Wang Yanxiang (Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yanxiang, a 70-year-old woman from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, was again persecuted on September 27, 2007. Her daughter, Ms. Liu Shufen, is also a Falun Gong practitioner and was sentenced to 11 years in prison eight years ago.

On July 5, 2007, hometown police arrested and then released Ms. Wang Yanxiang after a five-day hunger strike. Practitioner Ms. Liu Sheng, who was arrested together with Ms. Wang Yanxiang, died as a result of torture.

Once at home again, Ms. Wang went to Honggang District Police Department several times. She wanted to get back her Dafa books and Master's pictures that the police had confiscated while ransacking her home. One time a policeman replied that they did not want to hold these things and would return all of them, but the person in charge of keeping her things was not in the office, so as soon as he came back they would return them. While being asked to return these things again they said, "You'd better stay at home, and tomorrow we will go to your house and deal with these things."

Ms. Wang Yanxiang went to Honggang District Police Department again on September 27, 2007, and intended to get her confiscated things back. But policemen Zhang and Li tricked her to get in a vehicle with them and took her to the Honggang District Procuratorate and the Honggang District Court. They handed Ms. Wang an indictment letter and forbade her to leave. A court official eventually called her husband and informed him to take her home.

Wang Yanxiang's only daughter, Ms. Liu Shufen, was sentenced to 11 years in prison because for persevering in her belief. That was eight years ago, and she is still deprived of freedom in the Helongjiang Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Wang's husband died about one year ago, so she not only lost her family but lost her sole financial resource. This lonely old woman's experience is so bitter that a lot of kind people surrounding her feel much sympathy for her.
