Some practitioners do not pay enough attention to sending righteous thoughts because they do not see the immediate effect. In reality, righteous thoughts have huge power. I will give one example.

The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published in late 2004. Soon many people began quiting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party). The CCP panicked, as it knew the end was coming. To fight for survival, the Party launched an education campaign to "Keep the Advanced Nature of the Party Members." In the company where I work, the Party secretary bought a CCP flag and pasted it on an office wall. He also openly declared he would cleanse Falun Gong practitioners' souls.

One day at a political study session, several practitioners and I decided to send righteous thoughts at 10:00 a.m. to eradicate evil factors in other dimensions. As the Party secretary spoke non-stop in praise of the CCP, right after he said, "The Party's flag will fly forever," the CCP flag fell off the wall. He was so stunned he became speechless. All the other CCP members also suddenly fell into a dead silence. Fellow practitioners looked at each other with a grin. We had just experienced first hand the power of righteous thoughts.

During cultivation and while doing Fa validation work, if we keep righteous thoughts and act accordingly, the evil is really nothing. This was best described in Zhuan Falun,

"Though you may find one that has practiced cultivation for nearly one thousand years, a tiny finger will be more than enough to crush it."

Several practitioners rented a minivan in 2006 and drove 200 km (124 mi.) to the provincial capital to buy printing materials. On our way the van refused to pick up speed. When the speedometer read 60 km per hour (37 mph), the motor either overheated or made loud noises. We had to slow down and take a break. This happened more than a dozen times before we got there. The same thing happened on our way back, so we stopped at a repair garage. A mechanic said that a valve had quit working. But after he replaced it, the motor acted the same. It seemed we would not make it home before dark. I suddenly realized that this was evil interference! Four practitioners were in the car, and we were doing the most righteous thing. How could we let the evil interfere with us? Immediately, the car cruised at 80 km per hour (50 mph), and we arrived home on time, without a glitch. Indeed, when our minds are righteous, the evil can't touch us.

We sometime treat certain objects as things without life. But the Fa has told us that everything has a spirit. I borrowed a car once from a relative and went with several other practitioners to the provincial capital to buy computers and printing materials. To save time we took a short cut. While driving on the short cut road, the car suddenly stopped. We could not find anything wrong with it after checking it out. After a while one practitioner said, "Perhaps we went the wrong way." We asked a local person and learned that we were indeed lost. The car then acted normal again. We turned around and headed in the right direction.

We encountered many similar things in cultivation. If we know how to use our special capabilities, they become our Fa tools. If a problem occurs, it may be a hint to come to realize things according to the Fa, and a test to our understanding of the Fa.
