Zhao Yungong Illegally Imprisoned at Xuchang Forced Labor Camp

Dafa practitioner Zhao Yungong is from Ji County, Henan Province. He made a living and supported his family by driving a taxi. He liked to help neighbors and others, and always considered others before himself. On September 21, 2006, Zhao Yungong was reported to the police by a young girl named Wang Juan after he had clarified the truth to four students. He was arrested by Ji County police, and later was sentenced to imprisonment in a forced labor camp for one year and nine months by the Ji County 610 Office. Zhao Yungong is currently imprisoned at Xuchang Forced Labor Camp to be persecuted.

On the afternoon of September 21, 2006, Dafa practitioner Zhao Yungong was working as usual. When he was driving four students from the county to Gaoyang Town, he clarified the truth about Dafa to them -- such as what Falun Dafa is, what "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" are, how to become a good person, how to be thoughtful to others, and how to be a good student, etc. The atmosphere was harmonious, and the four students came to understand the truth. Right before the four students were about to get off, another girl got into the taxi because she needed to go to Gaoyang Town, too. Soon the four students got off Zhao Yungong's taxi happily, thanking him and saying that they wanted to be good students and would remember that Falun Dafa is good.

After the young girl Wang Juan arrived in Gaoyang, she reported Zhao Yungong to the Gaoyang Township Police Station. The police rushed to the street where Zhao Yungong was waiting for his next customers and arrested him. He was detained at the Gaoyang Township Police Station of Ji County for the night.

The next day, the Gaoyang police sent Zhao Yungong to the Ji County Police Stationm where he was detained for the next few days. The authorities decided to imprison him at a forced labor camp for one year and nine months. On September 30, he was sent to Xuchang Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province.

Ever since Zhao Yungong began practicing Falun Dafa, he has been trying to be a good person, and has been trying to be considerate of others by following the standard of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance". Oftentimes, poor customers, especially those from villages who could usually afford less, were not welcomed by other drivers. But Zhao Yungong would take them as long as the pay was enough to cover the gasoline, out of the thought of considering others' needs. Quite a few times he gave very poor people a ride without asking for payment.

On a 2004 winter evening, he went home after taking two passengers to Luozhuang Village of Bianzhuang Group, Chengguan Town. When he was cleaning the taxi, he found a handbag on the seat, in which there were ID's, certificates, and about 1,000 yuan in cash. The first thought that came to his mind was: "What to do? The person who lost this stuff must be very anxious! I should take this back to them immediately." However, he didn't know who those two people were and it was too late to ask anybody in the village. First thing the next morning, without starting his business as usual, he went right to the Luozhuang Village to find the owner and returned it to him.

The owner was too anxious to sleep the whole night. Just as when he was not sure what to do, Zhao Yungong came to his door to return his bag with everything in it. The owner was stunned, and he couldn't believe his eyes. He was speechless for a while but held Zhao Yungong's hands. Then he said: "Thank you so much! You are such a good person! Those certificates are very important to me. What's your name? Where do you live?" Zhao Yungong answered: "I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and I just want to be a good person by following the standard of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Please just remember that Falun Dafa is good." The whole family of the owner said: "Falun Dafa IS good! The propaganda on TV is false!"

Afterwards, the owner tried to find Zhao Yungong, wanting to thank him with rewards, but Zhao Yungong turned him down.

Zhao Yungong and his family are not rich. Actually his wife, his son, and himself only had a one-room house to live in. His income from driving the taxi was the only income to support the family, including the costs for his son going to high school, as his wife had been laid off. Since their son was quite grown up and the room was too small for three people, Zhao Yungong was working hard on the taxi business to save money to build an extra room. When he just had the construction supplies ready and was about to start building, he was reported and sent off to forced labor camp. Zhao Yungong has been imprisoned at the Xuchang Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province ever since.
