Tanghai County Police in Hebei Province Beat a Practitioner's Relative Unconscious

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 25, 2007, a grievously sad incident occurred at the No. 7 Farm's Police Station in Tanghai County, Hebei Province. It has made people very indignant. Police Department Deputy Head Zhang Shun and the No. 7 Station Police Chief Ji Xiangguang cruelly beat a young woman, Ding Guihua, while a dozen police officers watched.

The son of Falun Gong practitioner Wu Junzhuang called the home of practitioner Ms. Dong Ruifen at noon on September 25, 2007. He told Mr. Gao Weiwu, one of Ms. Dong' sons, that the arrested Ms. Dong was very sick at the No. 7 Station and suggested that Mr. Gao go see her. Two daughters-in-law, Ding Guihua and Cui Chuhong, were worried about their mother-in-law and decided to accompany Mr. Gao to visit his mother at the police station. When they got there, the police not only refused to let them visit their mother, but also pushed Ms. Cui so hard that she fell down. Ms. Ding could not tolerate this and argued with the officers, but Head Zhan and Chief Ji confronted her. One grabbed her in the front and the other grabbed her hair in the back, and they dragged her from the hallway to the lobby, where they beat her until she lost consciousness. Mr. Gao Weiwu attempted to stop the beating, but ended up having his arms forced back by two other police officers.

A righteous person called 110 (emergency) when he saw what was going on. Rescue police came and left without intervening. Ding Guiihua was later sent to Tanghai Hospital for treatment and was hospitalized for a week. The police did not show up at the hospital.

That same evening, police ordered Mr. Gao to go to the police station for questioning. He was immediately detained and transferred the next day to Tangshan City. He was detained for seven days.

None of Ms. Dong's relatives practices Falun Gong, and none believed that the police would beat people until they were witnesses to this terrible incident.
